This manual provides essential instructions for the safe operation and maintenance of the Husqvarna 12527HV snow thrower. Before operating, ensure you are familiar with all controls and safety rules. Always wear appropriate winter clothing and eye protection. Never use your hands to clear a clogged discharge chute; use the provided clean-out tool.
Assembly and Setup
The snow thrower is partially assembled at the factory. Follow these steps to complete the setup:

- Handle Assembly: Raise the upper handle to the operating position and tighten the handle knobs securely.
- Control Rods: Install the speed control rod, traction drive control rod, and auger control rod according to the diagrams provided in the manual. Secure them with the included retainer springs.
- Discharge Chute: Mount the discharge chute assembly onto the chute base, aligning the rotator head with the mounting bracket. Secure with the 3/8 washer and locknut.
- Deflector Control: Install the remote cable bracket and eyelet to the chute deflector and connect the spring.
- Tire Pressure: Check and reduce tire pressure to 14-17 PSI for optimal performance.
Operation
Familiarize yourself with the controls located on the handle panel:

- Starting: Ensure the fuel shut-off valve is OPEN. For cold starts, use the choke and primer as instructed. The unit features both an electric start (120V AC) and a recoil starter.
- Driving: Use the traction drive control lever to engage forward or reverse motion. Use the drive speed control lever to select the desired speed.
- Snow Throwing: Squeeze the auger control lever to engage the auger. Use the discharge chute control lever to change the direction of snow throw and the deflector remote control lever to adjust the distance.
- Stopping: Release the traction and auger levers, move the ON/OFF switch to OFF, and remove the safety ignition key.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity of your snow thrower:

- Engine Oil: Check the oil level before each use. Change the oil after the first 25 hours of operation or at least once a year. Use API service classification SG-SL oil.
- Tires: Maintain 14-17 PSI.
- Belts: Check belts for wear after every 50 hours. Replace if they slip or show signs of deterioration.
- Spark Plug: Replace at the beginning of each season or every 100 hours. Gap: 0.030" (0.762 mm).
- Cleaning: Keep the housing free of dirt and debris. Clean after each use.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues, consult the troubleshooting section. Common solutions include checking the fuel shut-off valve, ensuring the safety key is inserted, verifying the spark plug wire connection, and clearing any blockages in the discharge chute or auger. For persistent vibration or traction issues, contact an authorized service center.
