The Hyundai MWM 1417W is a manual microwave oven. To start using it, ensure it is placed on a level surface with at least 20 cm of clearance on the sides and 30 cm above the unit. Do not block the air vents. To operate, use the top knob to select the power level and the bottom knob to set the cooking time. Always ensure the timer is set to 0 when not in use. Never run the oven empty, as this can damage the magnetron.

Safety instructions

General Safety: Do not use the oven if the door or seals are damaged. Keep the oven clean to prevent surface degradation. Do not use the oven near water, in wet basements, or near swimming pools. Ensure the power cord is not damaged and is connected to a properly grounded outlet.

Microwave Safety: Do not heat liquids or food in sealed containers as they may explode. Do not heat eggs in their shells. If smoke is observed, keep the door closed and turn off the appliance. Use only microwave-safe utensils. Remove metal ties from bags before placing them in the oven.

Installation

• Remove all packaging materials from inside the oven.
• Place the oven on a flat, level surface.
• Maintain a minimum clearance of 20 cm from adjacent walls and 30 cm above the oven.
• Do not remove the legs from the bottom of the oven.
• Plug into a standard household outlet matching the voltage on the rating label.

Operation

The oven features two control knobs:

• Power Knob: Selects the power level (Low, Med. Low/Defrost, Med., Med. High, High).
• Timer Knob: Sets the cooking time. The oven starts automatically once the time is set.

Power Levels:

• Low (17%): Softening ice cream.
• Med. Low (33%): Soup stew, softening butter, defrosting.
• Med. (55%): Stewing, fish.
• Med. High (77%): Rice, fish, chicken, ground meat.
• High (100%): Reheating, milk, boiling water, vegetables, beverages.

Cleaning and maintenance

Always disconnect the oven from the power supply before cleaning.

• Clean the interior with a slightly damp cloth after each use.
• Wash accessories (glass tray, turntable ring) in soapy water.
• Clean the door frame, seals, and adjacent parts with a damp cloth if dirty.

Troubleshooting

If the oven does not work, check the following:

• Oven won't start: Check if the power cord is plugged in tightly, check the fuse or circuit breaker, or test the outlet with another appliance.
• Oven does not heat: Ensure the door is closed properly.
• Noise during operation: Check if the roller rest and oven bottom are clean.
