This manual provides essential safety and operational instructions for the iBELL IBL M220-76 MMA inverter welding machine. Before use, ensure the machine is placed on a solid, horizontal surface with adequate ventilation. Always wear appropriate protective gear, including a welding helmet, safety glasses, and flame-resistant clothing.
Product Overview
The front panel features a digital display, power and protection indicators, a current adjusting knob, an arc force knob, and quick connector sockets for the welding output. The rear panel contains the power switch and power cord anchorage.

Installation
Ensure the power supply is disconnected before making any connections. Follow these steps for setup:

- Ensure the air vent is not obstructed to allow proper cooling.
- Connect the electrode holder to the positive (+) quick connector socket and tighten clockwise.
- Connect the grounding clamp to the negative (-) quick connector socket and tighten clockwise.
- Attach the grounding clamp securely to the workpiece, ensuring a clean metal-to-metal contact.
- Verify that the power supply voltage matches the machine requirements (1Phase AC230V ±15%).
Operation
To operate the machine:

- Turn the power switch to the ON position.
- Select the appropriate welding current based on the electrode diameter and material thickness.
- Strike the arc by scratching the electrode against the workpiece, similar to striking a match.
- Maintain a constant arc length (approximately 1 to 1.5 times the electrode diameter) during welding.
- Use a 10-15 degree pulling angle when moving the electrode.
Important: Always start and stop the machine using the main switch, never by pulling the plug. If the machine overheats, the thermal indicator will light up; leave the machine on to allow the fan to cool the internal components.
Maintenance
- Regularly remove dust from the machine using dry compressed air.
- In heavy fume environments, clean the machine at least once a month.
- Store the equipment in a dry, dark place at temperatures between 5°C and 30°C.
- Periodically check all connections, screws, and the electrode holder for looseness or rust.
Safety Precautions
Welding involves significant hazards, including electric shock, fumes, gases, and arc rays. Always work in a well-ventilated area, keep your head out of fumes, and use protective screens to shield others from arc flash. Do not weld near flammable materials or on closed containers.

Common problems
Remove with a firm lateral jerk. If it remains stuck, release the electrode from the holder and use pliers to remove it.
The thermal indicator will light up and output is disabled. Leave the machine on to allow the fan to cool the internal components.
Check polarity, ensure the ground connection is secure, and verify that the current setting is appropriate for the electrode and material.
Before use
- Check for transport damage.
- Ensure the air vent is clear and unobstructed.
- Verify power supply voltage (1Phase AC230V).
- Ensure ground connection is secure and clean.
- Wear a welding helmet, safety glasses, and protective clothing.
- Ensure the area is free of flammable materials.
Specs in practice
- Rated Input Voltage
- 1Phase AC230V ±15%.
Images and diagrams
- Front Panel: Shows digital display, current/arc force knobs, and output sockets.
- Connection Diagram: Illustrates the correct setup of the electrode holder and work clamp.
- Weld Seam Chart: Compares normal welds with those caused by incorrect current or speed.
Model compatibility
- Requires specific electrode diameter based on material thickness (e.g., 1-2.5mm rod for 1-2mm steel).
- Not suitable for outdoor use in rain.
