Quick guide from the manual
The LAPP Mobility Dock is a Mode 2 emergency charger designed for occasional, portable use. It must be operated in a vertical, motionless position, supported by a wall-mounted socket. Do not use extension leads, multiple sockets, or operate the device while it is lying on the floor. Always visually inspect the device for damage before use.
Safety Instructions
Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or explosion:
- Only operate from a socket suitable for the purpose and checked by an electrician.
- Use only in properly earthed networks.
- Do not use if the housing, connector, or cable is damaged.
- Do not open the device; dangerous voltages exist inside.
- Keep away from sources of dust, chemical emissions, and moisture.
- Do not drop the device or subject the cable to strong bending, twisting, or tensile stress.
- If the device or socket is damaged, block the area, switch off power at the fuse, and consult an electrician.
Intended Use
The Mobility Dock is intended for vertical, wall-mounted operation. It is not suitable for IT-nets. It must be supported by the wall support to prevent damage to the socket. Do not use for anything other than its intended use, such as sockets near the ground.
Operation
Charging
- Insert the vehicle coupling into the vehicle inlet.
- Insert the charging plug into the type 2 outlet (C) until it clicks into place (B).
- Unlock the wall support (E) with the knob (D) and fold it out until it stops.
- Insert the mains plug (A) into a suitable wall socket so the housing hangs downwards. The device will perform a self-test.
- Turn the wall support until the device is supported in a vertical position.
- The device will communicate with the vehicle and release the charge.
End charging
- End charging via the vehicle (LED lights up permanently green).
- Unplug the Mobility Dock (A) from the wall socket.
- Unlock (D) the wall support (E) and return it to the starting position.
- If necessary, unlock the charging plug with the orange lever (B) and unplug it.
- Unplug the vehicle coupling from the vehicle.
- Stow the device and cable securely in the boot.
Status Display
The LED indicator provides the following status information:
- Permanently off: Not in socket.
- Green permanently on: Self test OK, vehicle connected, standby.
- Green flashing: Charging.
- Blue flashing: Reduced charging (e.g., high temperature).
- Yellow/Green flashing: Vehicle connected, warning status.
- Yellow flashing: Charging, warning status.
- White permanently on: Self test OK, vehicle not connected (disconnect and connect to vehicle first).
- Red permanently on: Temporary error (e.g., overtemperature), device restarts automatically.
- Red flashing: Safety error (e.g., installed upside down), disconnect for 10 seconds, rectify fault, and reconnect.
Technical Data
- Charging power: 2.3 kW
- Nominal voltage range: 230V AC
- Nominal current: 10 A (8 A for France/Finland if cycle > 2 hours)
- Frequency: 50 Hz
- Protection class: I
- Operating temperature: -25 °C to +45 °C

Transport and Storage
Never transport the Mobility Dock unsecured or in the passenger compartment. Store the device dry, clean, and protected from chemical vapours (e.g., in the boot). Ensure the casing and mains plug are protected against damage during transport.
Maintenance and Care
Disconnect the device from the vehicle and mains before cleaning. Clean only with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
Disposal
The device must be returned to a designated collection point for the recycling of WEEE and must not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste.
Practical help
Common problems
Temporary error (e.g., overtemperature). The device will restart automatically.
Safety error (e.g., installed upside down). Disconnect from mains for 10 seconds, rectify the fault, and plug in again.
Self test OK, but vehicle not connected. Disconnect the Mobility Dock from the socket and connect to the vehicle first.
Reduced charging, likely due to high temperature.
Before use
- Visually check all components (housing, cable, plug) for cracks, broken parts, or dirt.
- Ensure the wall socket is suitable, properly earthed, and checked by an electrician.
- Verify the wall support is long enough to support the device in a vertical position.
- Ensure no extension leads or multiple sockets are being used.
- Confirm the device is not lying on the floor.
Specs in practice
- Charging power: 2.3 kW
- The maximum power output provided by the charger.
- Nominal current: 10 A
- Standard current draw. Note: In France and Finland, if charging exceeds 2 hours, set max current on the vehicle to 8 A.
- Residual current circuit breaker (RCD)
- Built-in safety protection: 30 mA AC and 6 mA DC.
Model compatibility
- Mode 2 emergency charger for occasional, portable use.
- Requires mechanically and electrically suitable, wall-mounted sockets.
