Quick Guide from the Manual
The Mytee Speedster is a professional carpet extractor. Before operation, ensure the machine is properly grounded using a 20 amp outlet. Do not use extension cords. Always inspect the machine for damage upon delivery. When operating, use only low-foam or non-foaming detergents. Avoid using acid or high-alkaline chemicals in the 1003DX or 1005LX models to prevent pump damage.
Important Safety Information
This machine is intended for commercial use only. Always follow these safety precautions:
- The machine must be grounded. Do not remove the ground pin.
- Do not use extension cords.
- Keep hair, loose clothing, and body parts away from openings and moving parts.
- Do not use in areas with flammable or combustible materials.
- Do not leave the unit operating unattended.
- Do not use on wet surfaces or standing water.
- Always unplug the power cord before performing adjustments or repairs.
Machine Operation
Powering and Hoses
Each power cord requires a grounded 20 amp outlet. For dual-cord machines, plug each cord into its own 20 amp circuit. Use the included Cuff-Lynx connectors to attach vacuum hoses and the quick-connect fitting for solution hoses.
Filling the Solution Tank
The tank can be filled via the faucet fill hose or from a bucket under the solution tank lid. Use only low-foam or non-foaming detergents.
Switching On
For units with heaters (1001DX-200, 1003DX), follow this procedure to avoid vapor locking:
- Turn the pump switch on.
- Pull the lever on the cleaning tool to release air until a steady flow of water appears.
- Once the pump is primed and pressurized, turn on the heater switch and wait a few minutes.
- Turn on the vacuum and begin cleaning.
Prime Valve
The prime valve directs flow. Position 1 directs flow to the wash hose inside the solution tank (for rinsing/maintenance). Position 2 directs flow to the cleaning tool.
Machine Maintenance
Regular maintenance is essential for machine longevity.
- Daily: Clean and inspect tanks, hoses, and internal filters. Check power supply cable and spray nozzles.
- Weekly: Flush the solution system with Mytee System Maintainer. Inspect vacuum hoses for holes and loose cuffs. Lubricate wheels with water-resistant oil. Inspect for water leaks and loose hardware.
Opening the Unit
Use a drill with a 3/8 inch bit to remove the bolts holding the body together, then lift the push handle to open the machine.
System Maintainer
To clean the system, mix 1 quart of 3601 System Maintainer with 1 quart of warm water. Pour into the solution tank, turn on the pump, and run the solution through the cleaning tool. If equipped with a heater, turn it on after the pump is primed. Finally, flush with clean, warm water.
Troubleshooting
If the vacuum is not turning on, check electrical connections and the switch. If the vacuum is not producing suction, check for a full recovery tank, disconnected hoses, or blockages. If the pump runs but there is no spray, prime the pump or check for blockages in the line. If the heater is not heating, check electrical connections or reset the manual sensor button.
Practical help
Common problems
Check electrical connections and the switch. Test the switch by swapping wires with the pump or heater switch.
Empty the recovery tank, check for disconnected hoses, clear blockages, or tighten loose drain valves/lids.
Prime the pump, check for line blockages/kinks, or check the check valve for debris.
Check electrical connections, reset the manual sensor button, or check the heater element for continuity.
Turn off the heater, allow the unit to cool, turn on the pump first to prime, then turn on the heater.
Before use
- Inspect shipping carton and machine for damage.
- Ensure a grounded 20 amp outlet is available.
- Verify voltage and frequency match the nameplate.
- Connect vacuum and solution hoses securely.
- Fill solution tank with water and low-foam detergent.
- Check that filters and ball floats are clean.
