Quick guide from the manual
The Palmer PWT08MK2 is a universal 8-way power supply unit designed for effect devices. It features isolated DC outputs to ensure clean power delivery. The device includes mounting holes for secure attachment to pedalboards. Always ensure the total current draw of all connected devices does not exceed 2000 mA.
Device Description
The power supply unit provides 8 isolated DC outputs:

- Outputs 1-6: Six isolated 9 V DC outputs, each providing up to 300 mA.
- Outputs 7-8: Two isolated DC outputs with potentiometers for continuous voltage adjustment from 6 V to 18 V, each providing up to 500 mA.
Each output is equipped with a status LED. The LED lights green when a cable is connected and the output is functioning correctly. If the LED lights red, a fault (such as a short circuit, overcurrent, or incorrect polarity) has occurred.
Installation and Operation
Mounting: The housing features mounting holes in the base plate, allowing for secure attachment to a pedalboard or similar setup using cable ties or screws.
Powering Devices:
- Connect the original power adapter to the orange-coloured Power Input socket.
- For outputs 7 and 8, set the required voltage using the potentiometers before connecting your effect device.
- Connect your effect devices using the provided DC cables.
Safety Instructions
- Polarity: Ensure the polarity of your effect device matches the power supply (centre-negative). Connecting a device with reversed polarity can cause damage.
- Voltage: Verify that the output voltage of the power supply matches the input voltage required by your effect device to avoid overvoltage damage.
- AC Input: Do not connect effect devices that require AC voltage to this DC power supply.
- Current Limit: The total current requirement of all connected devices must not exceed 2000 mA. If exceeded, a protective circuit will switch off the outputs. The device will return to normal operation after approximately 2 seconds once the fault is rectified.
- Environment: Use the device only in dry rooms.
Technical Specifications
- Input Voltage: 100 - 240 V AC via external plug-in power supply (18 V DC / 2000 mA).
- Output Connectors: 2.1 x 5.5 mm.
- Polarity: Centre-negative.
- Dimensions: 140 mm (W) x 80 mm (D) x 32 mm (H).
- Weight: 0.293 kg.
- Operating Temperature: 0°C to 40°C.
Practical help
Common problems
Indicates a fault such as a short circuit, overcurrent, or incorrect polarity. Check your connections and device requirements.
Ensure the original power adapter is securely connected to the orange Power Input socket and the wall outlet.
The total current draw likely exceeded 2000 mA. Disconnect devices to reduce load; the unit will reset after approximately 2 seconds.
Before use
- Verify that all effect devices are centre-negative polarity.
- Check the input voltage requirements for each effect device.
- Set the voltage for outputs 7 and 8 before connecting devices.
- Ensure the total current draw of all connected devices is below 2000 mA.
- Use only the provided original power adapter.
Images and diagrams
- Power Input: Orange socket for the external power adapter.
- Outputs 1-6: Fixed 9V DC outputs with status LEDs.
- Outputs 7-8: Adjustable voltage outputs with potentiometers.
- Mounting Holes: Located on the base plate for pedalboard attachment.
Model compatibility
- Only compatible with DC effect devices.
- Do not connect devices requiring AC power.
- Ensure device polarity is centre-negative.
