This guide provides essential information for setting up and operating your Philips 243S5 series LCD monitor. The monitor is designed for a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 at 60Hz. Always ensure the monitor is placed on a stable surface and that the power cable and signal cables are securely connected.

Installation

Base Stand Assembly

For 243S5LDAB: Place the monitor face down on a soft surface. Attach the base column until it clicks into position. Hold the base stand with both hands and firmly insert it into the base column.

For 243S5LJMB/243S5LHMB: Place the monitor face down. Attach the stand to the VESA mount area and tighten the assembly screws. Attach the base to the stand and tighten the screw located at the bottom of the base.

Connecting to your PC

Connect the power cord to the back of the monitor. Connect the signal cable (VGA, DVI, HDMI, or DP depending on your model) to the video connector on your computer. Plug the power cords into a nearby outlet and turn on your computer and monitor.

Operating the Monitor

The monitor features an On-Screen Display (OSD) menu for adjusting settings. Use the buttons on the front bezel to navigate:

• Power Button: Switches the monitor ON and OFF.
• OSD/OK: Accesses the OSD menu and confirms adjustments.
• Left Arrow: Returns to the previous OSD level.
• Input/Source: Changes the signal input source.
• Up/Down Arrows: Adjust the OSD menu settings.
• Volume: Adjusts the speaker volume.
• AUTO: Automatically adjusts the monitor settings (applicable in VGA mode).

Image Optimization

The SmartContrast feature dynamically analyzes displayed content and optimizes the contrast ratio for maximum visual clarity. It can be enabled via the OSD menu.
