Quick guide from the manual
This document provides essential operating and safety instructions for the Ridgid 18V 30° Framing Nailer (R09895). Always read the full manual before use. Key safety requirements include wearing ANSI Z87.1 compliant eye protection with side shields and hearing protection. Never point the tool at yourself or others, and always assume the tool contains nails.
Operating modes
The tool features a mode selector switch to choose between two actuation methods:
- Full Sequential Actuation: Requires a specific sequence (workpiece contact must be activated before the trigger) for precise fastener placement.
- Contact Actuation: Allows for fast, repetitive firing by holding the trigger and depressing the workpiece contact against the surface.
Loading the tool
- Remove the battery pack.
- With the nose pointed away from you, feed a strip of nails into the magazine.
- Slide the pusher to the rear of the magazine and release it to push the nails forward. Do not allow the pusher to snap back.
Adjustments and maintenance
The tool features tool-free depth-of-drive adjustment. To adjust, remove the battery, turn the depth selector, and test on a scrap piece. If the tool performance decreases, the air pressure tank can be refilled to a maximum of 125 psi using an air compressor via the air fill valve.
Troubleshooting
If the tool operates sluggishly, verify the air pressure supply or allow it to reach proper operating temperature. If the tool jams, remove the battery and fasteners, loosen the magazine screws, slide the magazine back to expose the jam, and remove the bent nail with needle-nose pliers.
