Installation
To attach the lens to your camera:
- Ensure the camera is powered off.
- Align the white index mark on the lens barrel with the white index mark on the camera mount.
- Insert the lens into the camera mount and rotate it clockwise until it clicks and locks into place.
- Remove the front and rear lens caps before shooting.
To detach the lens, press the lens release button on the camera body, rotate the lens counter-clockwise until it stops, and separate it from the body.
Lens hood
The supplied lens hood is designed to prevent flare and provide better contrast. To attach, align the white index mark on the hood with the white index mark on the lens, then rotate clockwise until it clicks into place. To remove, grasp it firmly and turn counter-clockwise.
Focusing and modes
Zooming: Rotate the zoom ring to adjust the angle of view.
Custom Switch:
- Mode 1: The focus ring is used to manually adjust focus when the camera is set to AF-S (Single-shot AF) or AF-C (Continuous AF).
- Mode 2: The focus ring is used to manually adjust the aperture when the camera is set to any available auto focus mode.
Infinity Focus Calibration: Due to manufacturing tolerances, the factory default infinity position may not be precise. The lens supports infinity focus calibration.
Cleaning and cautions
Cleaning: Use a lens blower or soft brush to remove particles. Use a microfiber cloth with one or two drops of lens cleaner in a circular motion. Do not use organic solvents like paint thinner, alcohol, or benzene.
Cautions:
- Do not look directly at the sun through the lens.
- Avoid excessive force when attaching the lens.
- Protect the lens from water, high humidity, and excessive heat.
- Avoid drastic temperature changes (e.g., moving from a very cold location to a warm indoor location).
- Store with the lens cap on in a dry, well-ventilated location.
