Quick guide from the manual

This document provides essential safety and operational instructions for the Sealey CP400LI and CP400LIHV cordless impact wrenches. Users must read all safety warnings before use, including electrical safety for the charger and general workshop safety. Key requirements include using only impact-rated sockets, wearing appropriate PPE (eye, ear, and hand protection), and ensuring the battery is correctly latched before operation.

Device Description

The wrench features a variable speed trigger, a cast aluminium gearbox with a rubber gearhead cover, and an integrated LED worklight. It is powered by an 18V 3Ah lithium-ion battery and includes an electronic brake for safety.

Battery Charging

  • Remove the battery pack by depressing the release clip.
  • Connect the charger to the mains; the green LED will light until the battery is inserted.
  • Align the battery with the docking point and insert it into the slot.
  • A red light indicates the battery is charging; a green light indicates it is fully charged.
  • Normal charging time is approximately 80 minutes.
  • Do not charge the battery if the room temperature is below 10°C or above 40°C.
  • Allow the charger to cool for 15 minutes between consecutive charging sessions.

Operation

To use the wrench, snap an impact-rated socket onto the 1/2" square drive. Insert the battery until it clicks into place. Use the direction control switch to select rotation; the middle position locks the trigger. Release the trigger immediately upon hearing the impact sound to avoid over-torquing small fixings. For critical fixings, use a torque wrench to achieve the final specification.

Maintenance and Safety

Keep the tool clean using a damp cloth; do not use solvents or water. The tool is subject to vibration testing; operators should be aware of the risk of Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome and follow health surveillance recommendations. Store the tool and battery in a dry, childproof area where temperatures do not exceed 40°C.
