Quick guide from the manual
The Sealey AK466D is a mobile oil drainer designed to extract waste oil via the vehicle's dipstick tube. It features a 12L capacity tank and comes with various flexible and rigid probes. Important: Always ensure the oil temperature is at least 50°C before attempting extraction for optimal performance.
Safety
- Always wear protective gloves, eye protection, and clothing.
- Ensure the unit is disconnected from the mains before performing any maintenance.
- Do not use the pump to extract diesel, petrol, or other flammable liquids.
- Ensure the collection tank capacity exceeds the amount of oil to be collected.
- Keep the working area clean and well-lit.
Operation
- Unpack the unit and check for any missing or damaged parts.
- Ensure the waste oil canister cap is tightly screwed on and the hose tap is closed.
- Select the appropriate probe (flexible or rigid) based on the vehicle type and attach it to the hose.
- Measure the dipstick length against the probe to estimate the required insertion depth and mark the probe.
- Insert the probe into the dipstick hole until it reaches the bottom of the sump.
- Switch on the pump and open the hose tap. The pressure gauge should read 40cm hg or above.
- Once the gauge drops to zero, the sump is empty. Switch off the pump, close the tap, and remove the probe.
Maintenance
- Keep the unit clean and wipe off any oil spills immediately.
- Regularly inspect all hoses, tubes, and electrical connections for wear or damage.
- Ensure probes are kept clean and clear of obstructions.
- For motor-related maintenance, contact an authorised service agent.
Troubleshooting
If the pressure gauge does not reach 40cm hg, check the following: ensure the probe is deep enough, check for air leaks in joints/seals, verify the oil temperature is at least 50°C, or confirm if the extraction is already complete. If the motor fails to start, check the electrical supply and ensure the front motor grill is not blocked.
