Somogyi NPD 1-BK/WH Grounded Plug Installation Guide

This document provides installation instructions for the Somogyi NPD 1-BK and NPD 1-WH grounded plugs. Installation must be performed by qualified personnel only while the circuit is voltage-free. Ensure all connections are secure before re-energizing the circuit.

Installation Procedure

1. Ensure the power supply is disconnected.
2. Unscrew the housing screw and open the plastic cover.
3. Remove the cable strain relief.
4. Slide the flexible strain relief onto the cable (cut to size if necessary).
5. Remove 4 cm of the outer cable sheath.
6. Strip 10 mm of insulation from the earth, neutral, and phase wires.
7. Connect the earth wire (green/yellow) to the middle terminal marked with the ground symbol.
8. Connect the neutral wire (blue) and phase wire (brown or black) to the remaining terminals.
9. Secure the cable sheath portion with the strain relief.
10. Fold the two halves of the plug together, ensuring the strain relief is correctly seated.
11. Screw the two halves of the plug together.

Cable Requirements

The cross-section of the wire depends on the cable length:

• 1.0 mm²: For cables 1.4 - 2.0 m long.
• 1.5 mm²: For cables 1.4 - 5.0 m long.

Safety Warnings

• For indoor use only in dry places.
• The strain relief must be fixed only on the sheath-insulated part of the wire.
• Do not dispose of with household waste; use designated electronic waste collection points.
