The Thule Double Step 12V is an electrically operated step for recreational vehicles. It requires a 12V DC power supply. Operation is controlled via a switch, requiring a 2-3 second press to fully extend or retract. The system is designed for 12V operation and requires a 20A fuse for the electrical circuit.
Operation
To operate the step, press and hold the switch for 2-3 seconds. The step will automatically extend or retract. Ensure the area around the step is clear of obstacles before operation.

Manual release
In case of electrical failure, the step can be operated manually:

- Cut the tie-wrap securing the release mechanism.
- Pull the release lever to disengage the motor.
- Manually move the step to the desired position.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures smooth operation:
- Keep the step clean and free of debris.
- Do not use high-pressure cleaners or aggressive cleaning agents, as these can damage the mechanism.
- Periodically check all moving parts and lubricate if necessary.
Installation
Installation requires basic tools including a 13mm wrench, 9mm drill bit, and a 48mm hole saw for the switch. Ensure the mounting surface is flat and capable of supporting the step's weight.

Electrical installation
The step must be connected to a 12V DC power source. Use the provided wiring diagram to connect the motor (orange and purple wires) to the switch and the main battery. A 20A fuse must be installed in the circuit to protect the motor. Optional relays are available for automatic retraction features.
