Quick guide from the manual
The TPI 198-TMC is a portable heater designed for floor use. It features three heat settings (600W, 900W, 1500W), a tip-over switch, and an over-temperature safety cutoff. Always operate the unit in an upright position on the floor and ensure it is plugged into a properly grounded 110-120V AC outlet.

Safety Precautions
- Keep combustibles such as electrical cords, furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the heater and at least 1 foot (0.3 m) from the sides and rear.
- Do not use the heater in wet or damp locations, or near bathtubs/water containers.
- Do not use an extension cord if possible. If necessary, use a 3-wire grounded type rated for at least 1875 watts.
- Do not block air intakes or exhaust.
- Always unplug the heater when not in use.
Operating Instructions
1. Powering On: Plug the heater directly into a standard grounded 110-120V AC outlet. Ensure the unit is upright with rubber feet on the floor.
2. Heat Selection: Rotate the heat selection knob to the desired setting: LOW (600W), MED (900W), or HIGH (1500W).
3. Thermostat Usage: Rotate the THERMOSTAT knob clockwise until it stops to begin heating. At the LOW setting, the fan will not operate. At MED and HIGH settings, the fan will blow warm air. Once the room reaches the desired temperature, slowly rotate the knob counter-clockwise until the heater cycles off. The unit will then cycle on and off automatically to maintain the temperature.
Cleaning & Maintenance
Before cleaning, turn the heater to the OFF position and unplug it. Use a dry cloth to wipe dust and dirt from inside the heater cabinet. A vacuum cleaner crevice tool may also be used. Do not use waxes as they may discolor the unit. When not in use for an extended period, store the heater in a safe place, such as a box.
Resetting Over-Temperature Control
If the heater overheats, the built-in safety switch will turn it off. To reset: 1. Allow the heater to cool down. 2. Ensure the condition that caused the overheating (e.g., blocked air intake) is corrected. 3. Use a small straight object, such as a pencil, to push the button located inside the small hole on the side of the heater marked RESET.
