This manual provides essential safety, setup, and operation instructions for the Bauer 19161P-B Forced Air Propane Portable Heater. Safety Warnings
- Gas Leaks: If you smell gas, immediately extinguish all flames, shut off the gas supply, and evacuate the area. Do not touch electrical switches.
- Carbon Monoxide: Never use indoors, in tents, campers, or garages. Use only outdoors in well-ventilated areas.
- Fire Hazard: Keep the heater at least 15 feet away from flammable objects. Do not store extra propane tanks near the heater.
- Operation: Do not move the heater while it is in operation or hot. Wait 30 minutes for it to cool down.
Setup and Connection
Before using the heater, ensure it is placed on a level, stable, and fireproof surface. The propane tank must be located at least 6 feet behind the heater.


Connecting the Propane Tank
- Close the gas valve on the propane tank and the Gas Knob on the heater.
- Connect the hose to the propane tank and the heater.
- Perform a leak test by applying soapy water to all joints and fittings. If bubbles expand, a leak is present; do not use the heater until fixed.
Operation
Starting the Heater
- Plug the power cord into a grounded 120VAC outlet.
- Turn the Power Switch on and let the fan run for 30 seconds.
- Slowly open the gas valve on the propane tank, then open the Gas Knob on the heater a quarter turn.
- Position yourself behind the heater.
- Push and hold the Gas Valve on the left side.
- Push and hold the Ignition Button on the right side until the burner lights.
- Release the Ignition Button, but continue holding the Gas Valve for 5 seconds.
- Release the Gas Valve and adjust the Gas Knob as necessary.
Stopping the Heater
- Close the gas valve on the propane tank.
- Close the Gas Knob on the heater.
- Let the fan run for 2 minutes to cool the unit.
- Turn the Power Switch off and unplug the heater.
- Disconnect the hose.
Maintenance
- Before Each Use: Inspect for loose hardware, damaged hoses, or gas leaks.
- After Use: Wipe external surfaces with a clean cloth.
- Annual Inspection: Have the heater inspected by a qualified technician once a year.
- Storage: Store in a safe, dry, covered place out of reach of children. Ensure the propane tank is disconnected and stored separately.
