Quick guide from the manual
This manual provides essential information for the installation and use of Vevor NM-B electrical wire. The wire is designed for residential branch circuits, including outlets and switches. It is rated for 600 volts and must be used in dry locations only. Always ensure the wire gauge is appropriate for your specific electrical load and circuit requirements.
Construction and Materials
The NM-B cable is constructed with the following components:

- Conductor: Bare copper per ASTM B3. Sizes #14 AWG to #10 AWG are solid; sizes #8 AWG to #2 AWG are Class B compressed stranded per ASTM B8.
- Insulation: All phases and neutrals are insulated with Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) with a Nylon Sheath.
- Ground: Solid soft-drawn bare copper.
- Jacket: Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) jacket.
Color Coding:
- 2/C Cable: Black, White.
- 3/C Cable: Black, Red, White.
Applications and Usage
NM-B cable is intended for both exposed and concealed work in dry locations. It is primarily used in residential wiring for branch circuits, outlets, switches, and other loads. It may be run in air voids of masonry block or tile walls, provided these areas are not wet or damp.
Important Limitations:
- Do not use in wet or damp locations.
- Ampacity is limited to that for 60°C conductors as specified in the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Individual conductors are not listed or marked as THHN conductors and must not be installed apart from the complete Type NM-B cable assembly.
- Conductors routed inside panelboards and boxes without the cable jacket are considered part of the complete Type NM-B cable.
Technical Specifications
The following models are covered by this manual:
- NM-B 10AWG/2C: 10AWG, 2 conductors, 50FT length.
- NM-B 12AWG/2C: 12AWG, 2 conductors, 100FT length.
- NM-B 14AWG/2C: 14AWG, 2 conductors, 50FT or 100FT length.
- NM-B 6AWG/3C: 6AWG, 3 conductors, 50FT length.
All listed models have a maximum voltage rating of 600VAC and feature a yellow jacket.

Practical help
Common problems
NM-B cable is strictly for dry locations. Do not install in areas exposed to moisture.
Individual conductors are not permitted to be installed apart from the complete Type NM-B cable assembly.
Ensure the installation adheres to the ampacity limits for 60°C conductors as specified in the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Before use
- Verify the wire gauge (AWG) matches your circuit requirements.
- Ensure the installation environment is dry.
- Check that the circuit voltage does not exceed 600V.
- Confirm the number of conductors (2/C or 3/C) matches your wiring needs.
- Read the full manual to understand equipment and correct usage.
Specs in practice
- 60°C Ampacity
- The cable's current-carrying capacity is limited to the standards for 60°C conductors.
Model compatibility
- Suitable for residential branch circuits (outlets, switches).
- Can be run in air voids of masonry block or tile walls if dry.
- Not compatible with THHN conductor applications.
