The VonShef 1.8L Rice Cooker is designed for domestic use only. It features a thermal cut-out switch for safety; if the appliance overheats, it will shut down. Unplug and allow it to cool for 30 minutes before reuse. Never immerse the base unit in water.

Operation
Cooking Rice:
- Measure the required amount of rice using the provided measuring cup.
- Add the rice to the cooking pot.
- Add the required level of water.
- Place the cooking pot into the base unit and cover with the glass lid.
- Press the COOK SWITCH down to start the cooking process. The COOK INDICATOR LIGHT will illuminate red.
- Once cooking is complete, the COOK INDICATOR LIGHT will extinguish, and the WARM INDICATOR LIGHT will illuminate, indicating the 'keep warm' function is active.
Tips for Best Results
- Ratios: One full, level cup of uncooked rice requires 1 cup of water. For brown rice, use 3-4 cups of water per 1 cup of rice.
- Soaking: For softer rice, allow it to soak for 10-20 minutes before cooking.
- Steam Loss: Avoid opening the lid during the cooking process unless absolutely necessary to prevent steam loss and longer cooking times.
- Safety: Take care when opening the lid as steam may be emitted.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Important: Never soak or immerse electrical or heating components in water.
- Hand washing is recommended. Soak the cooking pot and lid in warm soapy water and wipe with a soft sponge.
- Use a non-abrasive cleaning brush for stubborn stains.
- Do not use abrasive cleaning solutions or metal scouring pads.
- Never wash electrical components or the base unit in a dishwasher.
- Allow the appliance to cool completely before cleaning.
