The Whirlpool AKR 504 IX is a 100cm island cooker hood designed for household use to extract cooking fumes and vapors. It features a control panel for adjusting extraction speeds and managing the cooking area lighting. The hood is designed for both ducting and filtering modes.

Safety Information
Important: Always disconnect the hood from the power supply before any cleaning or maintenance. Use work gloves during installation and maintenance. The hood must be installed with sufficient ventilation, especially when used with gas-burning appliances. Do not flambé under the hood. Ensure the hood is regularly cleaned (at least once a month) to prevent fire risks. Never use the hood without properly mounted grids or lamps.
Installation
Installation must be performed by two or more persons to avoid injury. Ensure the minimum distance between the hob and the hood is at least 50cm for electric cookers and 65cm for gas or mixed cookers. Follow the provided installation guide for screw placement and electrical connections. If the hood is not fitted with a plug, a double-pole switch must be installed to ensure complete disconnection from the mains under over-voltage category III conditions.
Operation
The control panel includes a motor ON/OFF switch, speed selection (increase/decrease), and a light ON/OFF switch. The intensive extraction speed is timed for 5 minutes, after which the motor automatically reverts to medium speed. The brightness of the control backlighting increases when a function is active.

Maintenance
Clean the hood using only a cloth dampened with neutral liquid detergent; do not use abrasive products or alcohol. Anti-grease filters should be cleaned once a month (or when the saturation indicator signals) using non-aggressive detergents, either by hand or in a dishwasher on a short, low-temperature cycle. Charcoal filters (for filtering version) must be replaced at least every four months and cannot be washed or regenerated. The LED lighting system is not user-replaceable; contact Customer Service for malfunctions.

Troubleshooting
If the hood fails to operate, check that the power is connected and a speed is selected. If performance is inefficient, ensure the kitchen is well-ventilated and the charcoal filter is not saturated. If the hood turns off during operation, check the power supply and the omnipolar disconnection device.
