This manual provides essential instructions for the safe installation, operation, and maintenance of the Whirlpool VWED series top load washing machines. Before using the appliance, ensure it is installed on a flat, stable surface and that all water and electrical connections are performed by qualified personnel. Always remove hard objects from clothing pockets before washing to prevent damage to the machine.
Installation
Proper installation is critical for the machine's performance and safety:

- Bottom Cover: Install the bottom cover by tilting the machine backward, sliding the cover into the base slot, and securing it with screws.
- Location: Place the machine on a solid, flat floor. Use the adjustable feet to level the machine if necessary. Maintain at least 10cm distance from walls.
- Water Hoses: Connect the hot and cold water inlet hoses to the corresponding taps. Ensure sealing washers are in place and tighten by hand.
- Drain Hose: The drain hose must be installed at a height between 80cm and 120cm to prevent siphoning or drainage issues. Ensure it is not kinked or obstructed.
Control Panel and Operation
The control panel allows you to select various wash cycles and functions:

- Power: Use the Power button to turn the machine on or off.
- Start/Pause: Press to start or pause the wash cycle.
- Cycle Selection: Choose from cycles like Standard, Quick, Delicates, Duvet, Wash+Airdry, Wool, and more.
- Functions: Customize your wash with options like Soak, Hand Wash, Warm Rinse, and SonicClean.
- Preset: Use this to set a delay time for the program to end (1-24 hours).
Detergent and Load Recommendations
Use only High Efficiency (HE) detergents. Add detergent and softener to the designated compartments in the detergent box. Do not exceed the MAX line for liquid detergent or softener. For powder detergent, ensure it is added according to the load size and water level.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity of your washing machine:

- Lint Filter: Check and clean the lint filter inside the drum after every wash.
- Water Inlet Valve: Clean the mesh filter at the water inlet every 6 months to prevent blockages.
- Drain Pump: Clean the drain pump filter at least once a month to remove debris like bobby pins or coins.
- Cleaning Cycle: If you frequently use cold wash cycles, run a cleaning cycle with the Duvet program and hot water every three months to prevent scum build-up.
Troubleshooting
If the machine displays an error code, check the following:
- E1: No water intake. Check if the tap is on, the supply is cut, or the inlet hose/filter is blocked.
- E2: Drainage failure. Check if the drain hose is installed correctly (80-120cm height) and is free of kinks.
- E3: Not spinning. Check if the laundry is unbalanced or the machine is not level.
- E4: Lid is open. Close the lid to continue.
