Important Information for Android 14 Update

This document provides release notes for the Zebra Android 14 NGMS update (14-32-12.00-UN-U00-STD-HEL-04). It is critical to review compatibility and upgrade paths before proceeding to avoid data loss.

• Data Loss Prevention: Upgrading from Android 11 or lower to Android 13 or 14 may cause a data reset due to encryption changes. Use the Zebra Conversion Package (ZCP) to maintain data persistence.
• Update Method: Delta Updates must be installed in sequential order (ascending). Full Updates can be used to jump to any available LifeGuard Update.
• Downgrade Restrictions: Devices with specific newer hardware (e.g., Power Amplifier SKY77652) cannot be downgraded below specific Android images.

Update Procedures

The update process depends on your current OS version and device hardware.

• Full Update: Use the HE_FULL_UPDATE package for a complete system update.
• Delta Update: Use the HE_DELTA_UPDATE package to update from the previous release (14-28-15.00).
• Zebra Conversion Package (ZCP): Required for migrating from Android 11 or lower to Android 13/14 without data loss. Select the correct ZCP based on your current source OS version and build.

New Features and Enhancements

This release includes several updates to system management and device functionality:

• MX 14.2: Includes new Access Manager permissions for exact alarms and system settings, and Audio Volume UI Manager controls for mute and vibrate states.
• Scanner Framework: Added support for MP7000 and FS40 scanners.
• Wi-Fi: Channel 13 is disabled in the August 2025 release for China compliance.
• Zebra License Manager: Integrated v15.0.4.5.03 with Badge ID activation and offline bin file support.
• Wireless Analyzer: Trial license period changed from 1 year to 6 months.

Resolved Issues

This update addresses various Software Problem Reports (SPRs), including:

• Fixes for device date/time reset upon battery removal.
• Resolution for audio issues during speakerphone calls.
• Fixes for Wi-Fi disconnection caused by NCC settings.
• Improved scrolling smoothness in Stylus, Glove, and Finger modes.
• Resolution for Recent apps not working in SOTI lockdown mode.

• Tablets/Other: EC30, EC50, EC55, ET51, ET56, L10A, VC8300.
