The Amzchef 10RVAMB is a tankless water heater designed exclusively for recreational vehicles (RVs). It operates on 12V DC power and propane (LP Gas). Before installation, ensure you have a qualified installer, as improper installation can lead to fire or explosion hazards. Always ensure the exhaust outlet is clear and never use the appliance in enclosed spaces or tents.
Installation
The installation requires a cutout opening of 12.75" x 12.75" (324mm x 324mm) with a minimum depth of 19" (483mm). Ensure the appliance is anchored to a solid frame. Use butyl tape to create a watertight seal around the flange. Connect the water and gas lines using appropriate fittings; do not use sealing tape on compression-type fittings. The electrical connection requires a 12V DC power supply, preferably on a 15A branch circuit.

Operation
To operate, turn the power switch on the appliance to the ON position. Use the wall controller to set the desired temperature (range: 95-124°F / 35-51°C). The unit features an automatic antifreeze function that activates when temperatures drop below freezing. For high altitude use, press the up and lookup buttons for 3 seconds to enable High Altitude Mode.
Maintenance
Routine inspection is critical. Yearly or before each season, inspect the gas and water systems for leaks. Clean the air intake and exhaust of any debris. The water inlet filter should be inspected and cleaned regularly; unscrew the filter, pull it out, and use a brush to clean it. If the RV is in storage or freezing conditions are expected, drain the water system completely to prevent damage.

Troubleshooting
If the unit fails to operate, check the error codes on the wall controller display. Common issues include gas supply interruptions, air in the water lines, or incorrect power supply. Ensure all valves are open and the gas tank is not empty. If error codes like E1 (Flame sense fault) or E5 (Air pressure fault) appear, check the gas supply or exhaust obstructions respectively.

Common problems
Check if the gas supply is turned off or interrupted, the gas tank is empty, the appliance is switched off, the water supply is turned off, or the power supply is switched off.
Reduce the hot water flow at the tap, check for cold water mixing into the hot side, or check if the gas inlet pressure is sufficient.
Clean the O-rings and their corresponding sealing surfaces with clean water.
Ensure water pump pressure is a maximum of 65 PSI. Install a water pressure regulator if necessary.
Before use
- Ensure gas supply is connected and leak-tested.
- Verify 12V DC power supply is connected correctly (Black: +12V, White: -12V).
- Check that air intake and exhaust are clear of obstructions.
- Ensure water system is purged of air.
- Verify all valves are in the correct position.
- Confirm the wall controller is illuminated.
