Bow Inspection and Maintenance

Regular maintenance is essential for the longevity and performance of your Apexx Predator bow. Before the hunting season, perform a thorough inspection:

  • Examine limbs for cracks, nicks, dents, or delamination.
  • Ensure all screws are tightened, including limb stops (8-32), mods (6-32), and cable rods (8-32).
  • Check e-clips for security and replace frayed D-loops.
  • Wax strings and cables regularly; contact support for replacements if needed.
  • Ensure the peep sight is securely tied and wipe down the bow to remove dust and dirt.

Cam Timing

Proper cam timing is critical for accuracy, consistency, and reducing vibration. The Apexx Predator features a solid back wall. At full draw, both top and bottom cams should rotate so that limb stops contact the limbs simultaneously. If timing is off, use a draw board or have a partner observe the limb stops while at full draw. Adjust by twisting the cable on the side that hits early until timing is synchronized.

Center Shot Tuning

A correctly tuned center shot ensures straight arrow flight. The Apexx Predator is designed with a center shot approximately 3/8 inch from the end of the shelf. Follow a three-step process: adjust the rest to 3/8 inch, perform a paper tune to check for bullet holes, and conduct a walk-back tune using a vertical target line to ensure your rest is perfectly centered.
