The Avantco 177MX60H is a commercial-grade 60-quart planetary floor mixer. Important: This unit does not come with a plug and must be hard-wired by a professional electrician. Always stop the machine completely before changing speeds to prevent gearbox damage. The unit will not operate unless the timer is set and the safety guard is in the correct position.
Important Safety Instructions
- For commercial use only.
- Always unplug the unit before cleaning or maintenance.
- Do not use metal scouring pads for cleaning.
- Do not operate the mixer with wet hands.
- Keep cords and plugs away from water or liquids.
- Do not store items on top of the unit while in operation.
- Ensure children are supervised; this appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities without supervision.
Installation
The mixer must be positioned on a sturdy, level surface with sufficient space around the machine to operate the controls and raise/lower the bowl. Verify that the electrical supply complies with the rating on the serial plate. This unit requires professional hard-wiring.

Cleaning and Maintenance
Wash all new bowls and accessories (whips, beaters, dough hooks) with hot water and mild soap before first use. Rinse with a mild vinegar or soda solution, then clean water. The mixer should be cleaned daily with a clean, damp cloth. Important: The rear bowl lift guides must be greased every three months to prevent corrosion.
Removal and Refitting of Safety Guard
The bowl safety guard is removable for cleaning. To remove, align the edge of the wire guard with the indentation markers on the fixed rear guard. Remove the rubber closing caps and mounting screws as indicated in the manual diagrams. Reverse the process to refit.

Operating Instructions
1. Set the timer (1-30 minutes); the unit will not operate without a preset time.2. Ensure the safety guard is closed and the bowl is in the correct position.3. Select the desired mixing speed using the handle. Always turn off the machine before changing speeds.4. Press the ON button to start. The unit will stop automatically when the timer expires.5. Use the red emergency stop button to shut down the machine at any time.
Capacity Chart and Attachments
When mixing dough, calculate the Absorption Ratio (AR) by dividing water weight by flour weight. Capacities are based on 12% flour moisture at 70°F. If using high-gluten flour, reduce batch size by 10%. Note: Never use 2nd speed on mixtures with less than 50% AR.
Troubleshooting
If the mixer attachment stops, the thermal overload may be activated; allow the unit to cool for 30-60 minutes and reduce the batch size. If the bowl is difficult to move, the slideway may be rusted and requires cleaning and lubrication. If the mixer touches the bowl, the bowl or mixing device may be deformed and requires repair or replacement.
