This manual covers the operation and maintenance of Avantco commercial glass door refrigerators and freezers. Important: These units use flammable refrigerant. Repairs must only be performed by trained service personnel. If the unit was transported on its side, you must let it stand upright for at least 24 hours before plugging it in to avoid compressor damage.

Installation
Proper installation is critical for performance and warranty coverage.

- Surface: Install on a strong, level surface to prevent noise and malfunction.
- Clearance: Maintain a minimum of 6 inches of clearance on both sides and the back of the unit at all times for proper airflow.
- Environment: Use indoors in a well-ventilated area. Avoid direct sunlight, high humidity, and dusty environments, as these can cause the condenser coil to fail and void the warranty.
- Placement: Keep away from heat and moisture-generating equipment.
Electrical Requirements
- The unit requires a dedicated, grounded, and properly-sized electrical outlet.
- Do not use extension cords.
- Ensure the unit is not resting on the power cord.
- If unplugging the unit, wait at least 10 minutes before plugging it back in to protect the compressor.
Temperature Controls
Units are factory-set for optimal food safety and typically require no adjustments.

- Refrigerator Range: 33°F to 40°F.
- Freezer Range: -5°F to 2°F.
- Adjusting Temperature: Hold the "SET" button for 1 second until the display flashes. Use the arrow buttons to adjust the minimum temperature, then press "SET" again to save.
Defrosting
Units perform automatic defrost cycles. To run a manual defrost cycle (digital models only):
- Freezers: Press the defrost button ("def" and down arrow) for approximately 5 seconds.
- Refrigerators: Press the defrost button (snowflake symbol and down arrow) for approximately 3 seconds.
Maintenance and Cleaning
- Condenser Coil: Clean at least once per month using a commercial condenser coil cleaner to ensure efficient operation.
- Interior: Use warm water and mild soap. Do not use steel wool, caustic soap, or bleach.
- Gaskets: Remove door gaskets weekly, soak in warm soapy water, dry, and replace. Check for a proper seal after reinstallation.
- Loading: Do not block the air duct/fan. Maintain at least 4 inches of clearance between products and the fan.
