This manual provides instructions for the Bissell CleanView Lift-Off 1190G. Key operations include assembling the handle, filling the water tank with water up to 60°C, and using the portable spot cleaner. Always ensure the portable unit is securely attached for upright mode to function. Use only BISSELL cleaning products.
Assembly

- Slide the Upper Handle onto the body of the machine by guiding the 2 posts on the body into the opening on the Upper Handle.
- Firmly hold the Upper Handle in place and screw 2 screws into the marked holes at an upward angle. Screw the remaining screws into the outermost holes under the support handle.
- Wrap the Power Cable around the Quick Release Cable Wrap.
- Wrap the Flex Hose around the hose wrap and secure with the latch.
- Align the portable spot & stain cleaner and push down firmly until secured. Plug the machine in and turn ON to verify the Upright Cleaning Mode Indicator Light illuminates.
- Snap attachments into the back of the unit.
Filling the Clean Water Tank

- Remove the tank from the base of the machine.
- Unscrew the black cap and remove the bottle insert.
- Fill the tank with hand hot (60°C/140°F MAX) tap water to the water fill line. Do not boil or microwave water.
- Add 60 mL of BISSELL formula to the tank.
- Replace the cap and return the tank to the machine.
Cleaning Your Carpet
- Plug into a proper outlet and press the Power Button.
- Press the gray recline pedal on the back of the machine between the wheels.
- Press the Spray Trigger and make one slow forward wet pass and another back. Do not overwet.
- Release the Spray Trigger and make one slow forward and backward pass over the same area.
- Repeat passes until the solution being suctioned up appears clean. Continue passes without pressing the Spray Trigger until no more water is suctioned up to speed up dry time.
Using the Portable Spot & Stain Cleaner
- Step on the Portable Spot & Stain Cleaner Release Pedal to release the unit.
- Release the Flex Hose by twisting the hose secure latch clockwise. Unwrap the hose completely.
- Attach the desired cleaning tool to the hose grip until it snaps together.
- Twist the Quick Release Cable Wrap clockwise to unwrap the cable and plug into a grounded outlet.
- Hold the tool approximately 2.5 cm above the soiled surface. Press the Spray Trigger to apply the cleaning solution.
- Release the Spray Trigger while applying downward pressure on the tool and pull it toward you to suction up dirt and solution.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Emptying the Dirty Water Tank
- Remove the tank and carry it to a sink or toilet.
- Rotate the handle over the back of the tank to unlock the lid.
- Remove the lid, pour out dirty water, and rinse the tank.
- Wipe debris from the red filter located behind the Dirty Water Tank.
- Replace the top of the tank and rotate the handle forward to lock.
Cleaning the Machine
Turn the machine OFF and disconnect from the outlet. Remove the nozzle assembly by unscrewing 3 screws. Rinse upper and lower nozzles under clean water. Clean spray tips by unlatching the tab on the front of the spray tip, pulling it out of the green receiver, and rinsing. Replace by inserting back into the red receiver.
Cleaning the Portable Machine
Suction up clean water from a bowl to rinse the hose. Check the suction gate for debris. To clean, remove two screws, pull off the suction gate door, wipe clean, and rinse. Replace the door and screws once dry.

Common problems
Ensure the power is ON and the portable spot & stain cleaner is attached completely.
Refill the Formula & Water Tank, ensure it is seated correctly, or prime the pump by holding the end of the hose below the water level in the tank.
Ensure the unit is reclined using the recline pedal. Check for foreign objects in the brush roll or a broken belt.
Check that tanks are seated properly, nozzles are assembled correctly, the suction gate is closed, and the Dirty Water Tank is not full.
Before use
- Assemble the handle using a Phillips-head screwdriver.
- Ensure the portable spot & stain cleaner is snapped firmly into the base.
- Fill the clean water tank with hot tap water (max 60°C) and 60 mL of formula.
- Vacuum the area thoroughly to remove loose debris and pet hair.
- Check for colorfastness on upholstery in an inconspicuous area.
