To get started with your Bosch GSR 12V-20 or 12V-20 HX, ensure the battery is fully charged. Insert the battery into the handle until it clicks into place. For tool changes, ensure the battery is removed first. For the HX model, pull the locking sleeve forward to insert or remove bits. For the standard model, open the keyless chuck by turning it, insert the bit, and tighten firmly by hand.

Operation

Battery: Use only the chargers listed in the technical data. The battery is supplied partially charged; charge it fully before first use. The battery is protected against deep discharge by Electronic Cell Protection (ECP).

Direction of rotation: Use the rotational direction switch to change the direction. Right rotation: For drilling and driving screws, press the switch to the left. Left rotation: For loosening screws and nuts, press the switch to the right.

Torque: Use the torque presetting ring to select the required torque in 20 stages. For drilling, select the drill symbol to deactivate the overload clutch.

Gear selection: Use the gear selector switch only when the tool is at a standstill. Gear I is for low speed (screwdriving/large drill diameters), and Gear II is for high speed (small drill diameters).

Maintenance and cleaning

Always remove the battery before performing any work on the tool (maintenance, tool change, etc.) and during transport or storage. Keep the tool and ventilation slots clean for safe and efficient operation.

Transport and disposal

The lithium-ion batteries are subject to dangerous goods legislation. They can be transported by road by the user without further requirements. When shipping by third parties, special requirements on packaging and labeling must be observed. Dispose of tools, batteries, and packaging in an environmentally friendly manner.

Tool stops during operation

The battery may be discharged or the tool may be overloaded. Check the battery charge indicator and reduce the load on the tool.
