This document provides installation and operation instructions for the Brandt FTI 6B and 11BN cassette air conditioning units. Key requirements include professional installation by qualified personnel, adherence to local safety regulations, and ensuring the electrical supply matches the unit's specifications. Always disconnect power before working on electrical boxes.

Installation of the indoor unit
The unit is designed for installation in a false ceiling. Ensure the location allows for proper air distribution and maintenance access. Use the provided brackets and follow the leveling instructions to ensure proper condensate drainage. The unit must be lifted by its four corners, never by the condensate pipe or refrigerant connections.

Refrigerant piping and condensate drainage

- Ensure a downward slope of at least 1 cm/m for condensate drainage.
- Install a siphon to prevent odors.
- Use high-quality copper tubing for refrigerant lines.
- Perform a vacuum test on the lines and indoor unit before opening the service valves.
- Verify leak-tightness using a leak detector or soapy water.
Electrical connections
The system must be permanently connected to a fixed electrical installation. Refer to the wiring diagrams provided in the manual for specific connections between the indoor unit and the FC 45 BN outdoor unit. Ensure all connections are secure and comply with local standards.

Remote control operation
The remote control allows for various modes: Cooling, Heating, Auto, Ventilation, and Dehumidification. The 'I FEEL' function uses the remote's sensor for local temperature detection. The system also features a timer for scheduled operation and a 'SLEEP' mode for night-time comfort. A manual override button is located under the front panel of the indoor unit if the remote is unavailable.
Maintenance
Regularly clean the air filter to ensure efficient operation. Before long periods of inactivity, turn the remote to 'OFF' and disconnect the main power switch. If the motor or turbine requires service, follow the specific disassembly steps outlined in the manual.

Common problems
Check batteries or use the manual override button located under the front panel of the indoor unit.
Ensure the drainage pipe has a downward slope of at least 1 cm/m and that a siphon is installed.
Verify that the refrigerant lines are properly vacuumed and that there are no leaks. Check if the 'I FEEL' sensor is obstructed by heat sources.
Before use
- Verify all installation accessories are present.
- Ensure the electrical supply matches the unit's voltage and frequency.
- Check that the unit is level in the false ceiling.
- Confirm all refrigerant connections are tight and leak-tested.
- Ensure the air filter is clean and properly installed.
Specs in practice
- 3N ~ 400V - 50Hz
- Required power supply for the FC 45 BN outdoor unit.
- Flare connection
- Standard method for connecting refrigerant copper pipes; requires specific torque (30-95 Nm depending on pipe diameter).
