Quick guide from the manual
This document provides installation and setup instructions for the Caroma Cube 0.8L Electronic Urinal. Before beginning, ensure the water supply lines are flushed to prevent debris from damaging the solenoid valve. The system requires an operating flow pressure of 300 to 500 kPa to achieve the necessary 18 litres/minute flow rate. All electrical work must be completed before plugging in the transformer, and surge protection is recommended.
Installation procedures
The urinal can be installed in three configurations: Inwall, Induct, or Inceiling. Follow these general steps:

- Flush lines: Flush all water lines prior to installing the solenoid valve.
- Valve installation: Install the flush valve vertically. Connect the water supply and flushpipe, ensuring the flushpipe is vertical and straight to prevent water backup.
- Solenoid valve: Remove the brass protective plug and install the solenoid valve.
- Sensor installation: Clean the rectangle pad area at the back of the urinal. Apply the supplied mastic glue to the black plastic side of the sensor. Adhere the sensor to the urinal with the cable pointing upwards. Ensure the Caroma logo is facing the correct direction.
- Electrical connections: Connect the solenoid valve to the sensor control unit. Connect the power supply unit to the sensor control unit. Use a flexible electrical conduit pipe (20mm or 25mm) for the entire length of the sensor cable.
- Finalizing: Install the urinal, check for leaks, and install the optional cover plate if using an inwall configuration.
Pressure settings
The unit is factory preset to discharge 0.8 litres at 300-400 kPa inlet pressure. If the inlet pressure is between 401-500 kPa, you must adjust the setting:
- Press and hold the controller FLUSH button for 5 seconds to change the pressure setting.
Maintenance and cleaning
The product is subject to normal wear and should be checked regularly. All service must be performed by an authorised service person. To clean the glazed surface, use a mild household detergent or warm soapy water.
Practical help
Common problems
Ensure the flushpipe is installed vertically and straight.
Press and hold the controller FLUSH button for 5 seconds to adjust the pressure setting.
Ensure the rectangle pad area at the back of the urinal is free of dust and grease before applying mastic glue.
Use surge protectors and do not plug in transformers until all major electrical work is completed.
Before use
- Flush water lines before installing the solenoid valve.
- Verify inlet pressure is between 300 and 500 kPa.
- Ensure minimum flow to the valve is 18 litres/minute.
- Install flexible electrical conduit for the sensor cable.
- Check that the sensor cable is pointing upwards.
- Ensure the Caroma logo is facing the correct way before fitting the sensor.
Specs in practice
- Operating Flow Pressure
- 300 to 500 kPa (30 to 50 metres head) is required for proper operation.
- Minimum Flow Rate
- 18 litres/minute is necessary to flush the urinal effectively.
- Factory Preset
- 0.8 litres per flush at 300-400 kPa inlet pressure.
