Quick guide from the manual

This generator is designed for outdoor use only. It features CO Shield technology to monitor carbon monoxide levels and automatically shut off the engine if unsafe levels are detected. Always operate on a flat, level surface and maintain at least 5 feet of clearance from all combustible materials.

Product Overview

The generator features a control panel with an ignition switch, fuel select dial, circuit breakers, and various AC receptacles. The fuel select dial allows you to switch between Gasoline, Propane (LPG), and Natural Gas (NG).

Assembly

The unit requires assembly of the wheel kit. Ensure all items are removed from the shipping carton. Install wheels using the provided pins, washers, and R-clips. Connect the battery by pushing the two halves of the battery connector together. Fill the engine with the recommended 5W-30 oil before the first start.

Fueling

Gasoline: Use clean, fresh, regular unleaded gasoline (minimum 87 octane, max 10% ethanol). Do not overfill; leave at least 1/4 inch of space in the tank for expansion.

Propane (LPG): Connect the LPG hose to the generator and the LPG cylinder. Ensure the cylinder is in an upright position. Check all connections for leaks using a soapy water solution.

Natural Gas (NG): Connect the NG hose to the generator. Ensure the supply line is sized to the minimum flow rate of 200,000 BTU/hr. Check all connections for leaks before starting.

Operation

Starting: Ensure the generator is on a flat surface and all circuit breakers are reset. Select the fuel type using the fuel select dial. Pull the choke knob out (for gasoline), press the ignition switch to start, and push the choke knob in once the engine starts.

CO Shield: If the generator shuts down and a red LED blinks, it has detected high CO levels. Move the generator to an open, outdoor area and point the exhaust away from people and buildings.

Electrical Loads: Start the generator with no load attached. Allow it to stabilize for a few minutes before plugging in devices. Always plug devices directly into the generator.

Maintenance

Follow the maintenance schedule: check oil level before each use, change oil and filter after the first 5 hours (break-in), and perform regular maintenance every 50-100 hours. Clean the spark arrestor and air filter regularly. Use an air compressor to clear debris from the generator.

Troubleshooting

If the engine fails to start, check for fuel, proper oil level, and ensure the spark plug wire is connected. If the generator shuts down during operation, check for CO accumulation or low oil. If the GFCI trips, press the TEST button then the RESET button to restore power.

Practical help

Common problems

Engine will not start

Check for fuel, ensure oil is at the proper level, check spark plug wire connection, and verify the fuel select dial is set to the correct fuel.

Engine shuts down during operation

Check for CO Shield activation (move to fresh air), low oil level, or obstructions blocking exhaust.

No AC output

Check circuit breakers, inspect for loose wiring, or reset the GFCI receptacle.

Before use

  • Check oil level (5W-30 recommended).
  • Check fuel level (Gasoline, LPG, or NG).
  • Ensure generator is on a flat, level surface.
  • Ensure generator is outdoors in a well-ventilated area.
  • Check all fuel connections for leaks using soapy water.
  • Ensure all circuit breakers are in the run position.
