Safety instructions

Carbon Monoxide Hazard: Generator exhaust contains poisonous carbon monoxide gas. Operate the generator outdoors only in a well-ventilated area, far away from windows, doors, and vents. Never use inside a home, garage, or enclosed space.

Fire and Electrical Safety: Keep the generator at least 5 feet away from combustible materials. Do not operate in wet conditions. Use a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) in damp areas. Do not touch bare wires or receptacles.

Controls and features

The generator features a control panel with:

• AC Outlets: Two 120V AC, 20A (NEMA 5-20R) receptacles.
• 12V DC Outlet: For automotive style plugs.
• Economy Mode: Minimizes fuel consumption and noise during low electrical load.
• Circuit Breakers: Protect against electrical overloads.
• Fuel Dial: Controls fuel flow and engine start/stop.

Assembly

The unit ships without oil. You must service it before operation:

1. Place the generator on a flat, level surface.
2. Remove the maintenance cover.
3. Add 16.9 fl. oz. (0.5 qt.) of 10W-30 automotive oil. Do not overfill.
4. Check oil level daily.

Operation

Starting the engine:

1. Ensure the generator is on a flat, level surface and no electrical loads are connected.
2. Turn the fuel cap vent lever to the ON position.
3. Turn the fuel dial clockwise to the ON position.
4. Pull the choke knob out to the CHOKE position.
5. Pull the recoil cord slowly until resistance is felt, then pull rapidly.
6. As the engine warms up, push the choke knob in to the RUN position.

Stopping the engine: Turn off and unplug all electrical loads, then turn the fuel dial to the STOP position.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance is required for optimal performance:

• Oil Change: Change oil after the first 5 hours (break-in) and every 100 hours or annually thereafter.
• Air Filter: Clean every 50 hours or annually.
• Spark Plug: Clean/adjust every 100 hours or annually.
• Spark Arrestor: Clean every 100 hours or annually.

Troubleshooting

If the engine fails to start, check the fuel level, spark plug, oil level, and ensure the fuel valve is open. If the generator is overheating or not supplying power, check for overloads or a dirty air filter.
