Setup and Assembly
Before operating the generator, complete the following assembly steps:
- Unpacking: Open the shipping carton carefully.
- Vibration Mounts: Attach the vibration mounts to the generator frame as indicated in the assembly instructions.
Preparation
Proper preparation is required before the first start:
- Add Engine Oil: Use 5W-30 oil. The capacity is up to 13.5 fl. oz. (400 ml). Do not overfill.
- Add Fuel: Use gasoline. Do not use E15 or E85 fuel blends.
Safety and Placement
Warning: Never operate the generator in enclosed areas, such as inside a house or garage. Always move the generator to an open, outdoor area and point the exhaust away from structures. Keep all objects at least 5 feet (1.5 m) away from the generator to prevent fire hazards from muffler heat and exhaust gases.
Starting Procedure
- Ensure no electrical devices are plugged into the generator. Never start or stop the generator with electrical devices connected or turned on.
- Turn the fuel dial to the RUN position.
- Move the choke lever to the CHOKE position.
- Pull the recoil starter to start the engine.
- Once the engine is running, move the choke lever back to the RUN position.
- Connect your electrical loads.

Common problems
Generator will not start
Ensure the fuel dial is set to RUN, the choke is in the CHOKE position, and no electrical devices are plugged in.
Engine damage
Do not overfill the oil reservoir (max 400ml) and never use E15 or E85 fuel.
Fire hazard
Ensure the generator is at least 5 feet (1.5m) away from all objects and never operate in enclosed spaces like garages.
