Quick guide from the manual

This guide provides essential information for the safe installation and operation of the CLAS OP 0082BL metal case air reel. Always ensure the air source is turned off before maintenance or storage. The reel is designed for indoor or sheltered use; avoid exposing it to direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, or harsh chemicals to prolong the life of the hose and housing.

Product Description

  1. Mounting: The bracket can be mounted on a brick wall, post, or overhead beam. The most appropriate position is horizontal, approximately 1 meter above the ground.
  2. Bracket Assembly: The wall mounting bracket consists of three parts: two fasteners and the main bracket. Use the two fasteners to fix the bracket. Ensure each M8 screw is used with a spring washer or padding to lock the unit securely in position.
  3. Connection: Screw the coupling joint (3) onto the inlet connector. Insert the air source coupling socket (4) into the coupling joint.

Operation

The reel is equipped with a ratchet wheel and detent design for easy hose management.

  • Extending: Pull the hose to the desired length. You will hear a "KADA" sound. When you stop pulling, the ratchet will latch the hose in place.
  • Retracting: To retract, pull the hose slightly until the ratchet sound stops, then allow the hose to retract. Note: It is recommended to extend at least 25% of the hose length before retracting. Always hold the hose during retraction to ensure it winds evenly and to prevent injury or damage from high-speed retraction.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Do not immerse the reel in water. If the hose is dirty, clean it manually before retracting.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the reel in a sheltered position. Exposure to sunlight and outdoor elements will deteriorate metal parts and polypropylene components.
  • Lubrication: The internal springs are factory-lubricated and do not require additional lubrication.

Safety

  • Do not exceed the specified working pressure (120 PSI) or temperature limits.
  • Do not use the hose for drinkable water.
  • Avoid contact with chemicals such as acetone, white spirits, or lactic acid.
  • Warning: Relieve all spring tension before attempting any disassembly. Major repairs should be performed by an authorized technician.

Exploded View and Parts

The manual includes a detailed exploded view (parts 1-30) identifying components such as the ratchet wheel, drive spring, and various washers/nuts. If you require spare parts, please contact your reseller or an authorized technician.

Practical help

Common problems

Hose is difficult to rewind

Ensure the hose is clean. High temperatures or direct sunlight can heat the hose and make it difficult to retract. Turn off the air supply before retracting.

Hose does not retract

Ensure at least 25% of the hose length has been extended before attempting to retract. If the ratchet is engaged, pull the hose slightly to release it.

Rust or deterioration of parts

The reel is not designed for permanent outdoor exposure. Mount it in a sheltered position to protect metal and polypropylene parts from the elements.

Before use

  • Verify the air source pressure does not exceed 120 PSI.
  • Ensure the mounting surface (wall or beam) is solid and secure.
  • Check that the hose is free of kinks or damage.
  • Confirm the ambient temperature is within the 0°C to 60°C range.
  • Ensure the coupling is tightly connected to the air source.

Specs in practice

Working Pressure (120 PSI)
The maximum pressure the hose is designed to handle during regular operation.
Burst Pressure (360 PSI)
The pressure at which the hose is likely to fail; do not approach this limit.
Hose I.D. (8*12mm)
The internal and external diameter of the hose, important for fitting compatibility.

Images and diagrams

  • The installation diagram shows the 3-piece mounting bracket assembly (2 fasteners + bracket) and the M8 screw points.
  • The exploded view provides a numbered list of 30 components, useful for identifying parts during repair or maintenance.

Model compatibility

  • Not suitable for transferring drinkable water.
  • Avoid contact with chemicals like acetone, white spirits, or lactic acid.
