This document provides essential instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of the Dimplex LI 1422C and LI 1826C air-to-water heat pumps. Key points include:

- Professional Installation: Work must be performed by authorized and qualified service technicians.
- Safety: Always ensure circuits are powered down before opening the device. Use appropriate PPE.
- Commissioning: Requires specific procedures via the heat pump manager, including setting the overflow valve and ensuring correct water flow.
- Water Quality: Strict adherence to water quality standards (hardness, pH, conductivity) is mandatory to prevent corrosion and scale.
- Maintenance: Regularly clean the dirt trap and inspect the air system for contamination.
Safety notes
Observe all safety warnings in all life phases of the device. Failure to use personal protective equipment (safety gloves, shoes, glasses, and closed clothing) can result in severe injury. Ensure the device is powered down before opening. It is forbidden to operate the heat pump without safety devices like covers or gratings.
Transport and handling
The heat pump must be transported on a pallet and lifted only from the operator side using a lift truck or forklift. Do not stand under the load. For easier transport into buildings, the device can be separated into two parts by draining the refrigerant, removing the condensate hose, and disconnecting electrical/soldering points. Transport locks on the base must be removed before commissioning.

Installation and assembly
The heat pump must be installed in a frost-free, dry room on an even, smooth, and horizontal surface. Ensure adequate space for maintenance. The condensate pipe must have a minimum diameter of 50 mm and be frost-protected. Connect the heating system using flexible hoses to prevent solid-borne sound transmission. Air ducts must be installed according to the provided dimensions and sealed properly.

Commissioning
Commissioning is performed via the heat pump manager. Ensure the heating system is flushed and the dirt trap is installed. The overflow valve must be set to ensure the minimum heating water flow rate. Start the commissioning program in the special functions menu and ensure a return temperature of at least 25 °C is reached before opening heating circuits.
Cleaning and maintenance
Regularly check and clean the integrated dirt trap. The heating circuit must be pressureless during cleaning. Protect the evaporator from contamination (leaves, twigs) before each heating season. Never use cleaning agents containing sand, soda, acid, or chloride on the device surfaces.
Troubleshooting
Faults are indicated on the heat pump manager display. Consult the "Faults and troubleshooting" section in the heat pump manager's operating instructions. If the fault cannot be corrected, contact an after-sales service technician.
Technical data
The device information section provides detailed specifications, including operating limits (heating water flow/return up to 60 °C, air temperature -22 °C to +35 °C), sound power levels, and electrical connection requirements (3~/PE 400V).
Integration diagrams
Hydraulic integration diagrams are provided as examples for professional planning. The system requires a safety-approved layout by a specialist planner. Refer to the legend for identification of valves, pumps, and sensors.

Practical help
Common problems
Ensure there is a clockwise rotating field (L1, L2, L3). Incorrect wiring prevents startup.
Check the heat pump manager display for specific error codes and consult the manager's operating instructions.
Check for contamination in the heat exchanger or dirt trap. Ensure air intake/outlet paths are clear.
Before use
- Remove transport locks on the compressor.
- Verify all valves in the heating circuit are open.
- Ensure air intake and outlet paths are clear.
- Verify condensate drain functions properly.
- Check that water quality meets requirements (hardness, pH, conductivity).
Specs in practice
- Heating water flow
- Must be maintained at nominal rates specified in the device information to prevent plate heat exchanger freezing.
- Saturation Index
- Should be between -0.2 and 0.2 to prevent corrosion or calcification.
- Operating limits
- Heating water flow/return up to 60 °C; air temperature for heating -22 °C to +35 °C.
Images and diagrams
- Transport: Shows how to open/close covers and remove transport locks.
- Air connection: Details dimensions for air ducts and sealing collar installation.
- Hydraulic integration: Shows connections for heating flow/return, sensors, and pumps.
Model compatibility
- Not suitable for operation with a frequency converter.
- Not intended for use above 2000 meters altitude.
- Requires professional installation by authorized service technicians.
