Quick guide from the manual
The EHX Hum Debugger is designed to remove hum from your guitar signal chain. It is used like a standard effects pedal. The most critical requirement is the use of the specific 7.5VAC/400mA power adapter supplied with the unit. Do not use other adapters, as they may damage the pedal.
Controls and I/O Jacks
- NORMAL/STRONG Toggle Switch: Sets the intensity of hum elimination. NORMAL mode removes odd harmonics; STRONG mode removes both odd and even harmonics.
- Status LED: Indicates if the pedal is active (lit) or in True Bypass mode (off).
- Footswitch: Toggles between active and True Bypass modes.
- Connections: Connect your instrument to the INPUT jack and your amplifier or subsequent effects chain to the AMP jack.
Operation
For best results, place the Hum Debugger at the beginning of your effects chain. Start by setting the toggle switch to NORMAL mode. If hum persists, switch to STRONG mode to eliminate the remaining noise.
Power Requirements
The unit does not use batteries. You must use the included AC adapter with an output of 7.5VAC and at least 200mA of current. Using incorrect power supplies can cause damage to the unit or the adapter.
Safety and Compliance
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. If interference occurs, try reorienting the receiving antenna, increasing separation between equipment, or connecting to a different circuit.
