Quick guide from the manual

This document provides essential instructions for the CSL Elite Pedals and the CSL Elite Pedals Loadcell Kit. The Loadcell Kit is an upgrade for the basic CSL Elite Pedals, adding a loadcell brake and an electronics module. Key procedures include proper assembly, connection to PC or wheel base, calibration, and maintenance.

Assembly and Mounting

Mounting the pedals: Align the pedal unit poles with the holes in the heel rest. Insert M8 screws with washers from the top and secure with nuts from the bottom. Ensure cables are not clamped during assembly.

Stabilizer bars: If your rig does not have a full pedal plate, use the included stabilizer bars to reinforce the pedal set. Insert the bars through the covers and attach spacers between the pedal unit base frames.

Hardmounting: The pedals can be hard-mounted to a rig using the holes at the corners of the heel rest and the base frames of each pedal unit. Always hard-mount at the heel rest and at least one screw per pedal unit.

Rubber covers and anti-skid pads: Pedal plate rubber covers can be removed without tools. Anti-skid pads can be applied to the pedal plates for better grip; ensure the surface is clean and dry before application.

Connections

Wheel Base Connection: Use the RJ12 cable to connect the pedals to the 'Pedals' port on a compatible Fanatec Wheel Base. This is compatible with both PC and consoles.

PC USB Connection: For direct PC connection, use the USB cable provided with the Loadcell Kit. Do not use the ClubSport USB Adapter for the Loadcell Kit; use the USB port on the Loadcell electronics module.

Calibration

Auto-calibration: When powered on without manual calibration, the pedals operate in auto-calibration mode. Press each pedal through its full mechanical travel (minimum to maximum and back) to calibrate.

Manual calibration: This can be performed via the PC driver or the wheel base tuning menu. In the PC driver, use the 'set min' and 'set max' buttons to store specific pedal positions. In the wheel base tuning menu, use the button combinations on the steering wheel to calibrate throttle and clutch positions.

Maintenance

Clean the device only with a dry or slightly damp cloth. If you hear or feel grinding, apply lithium grease to the moving parts marked in the maintenance section of the manual.

Troubleshooting

If the pedals are not recognized, ensure the latest firmware and drivers are installed. If pedal signals feel strange, perform an auto-calibration or check manual calibration settings in the PC driver.
