The FEIN GAL 1880 CV is a battery charger designed for FEIN AMPShare Li-Ion batteries and those of AMPShare partners. Before use, ensure the mains voltage matches the charger's rating plate. The charger features Active Air Cooling to monitor and regulate battery temperature during the charging process.

Charging process
The charging process begins automatically once the mains plug is inserted into a socket and the battery is placed into the charging bay (1). The intelligent charging system detects the battery's state of charge and adjusts the charging current based on temperature and voltage to optimize battery life.
LED indicator meanings
- Flashing green (3): Rapid charging is in progress. The battery can be removed at any time.
- Continuously illuminated green (3): The battery is fully charged.
- Continuously illuminated red (4): The battery temperature is outside the permitted charging range. Charging will start automatically once the temperature is within the permitted range.
- Flashing red (4): A fault has occurred during the charging process. Refer to the troubleshooting section.
Troubleshooting
If the red LED (4) flashes, charging is not possible. Check if the battery is correctly inserted, if the contacts are dirty, or if the battery is defective. If neither LED (3) nor (4) lights up, ensure the mains plug is fully inserted and check the power supply.
Maintenance and cleaning
Clean the charger once a week if used frequently. Keep the contacts in the charging bay clean and dry. Ensure no metal chips enter the charger housing. Repairs must only be performed by qualified electricians using original spare parts.

Common problems
Red LED (4) flashes
Ensure the battery is correctly inserted. Clean battery contacts by inserting/removing the battery several times. Replace the battery if it remains defective.
LEDs (3) or (4) do not light up
Ensure the mains plug is fully inserted into the socket. Check the mains voltage and have the charger inspected by an authorized FEIN service center if necessary.

- Check that the mains voltage matches the charger's rating plate.
- Ensure the charger is not placed in a closed cabinet or near heat sources.
- Inspect the charger, cable, and plug for damage before use.
- Ensure the ventilation slots are not covered.
