Quick guide from the manual

This document provides installation and usage instructions for the Fiamma Motor Kit Compact F45s. The kit is designed to motorize the F45s awning. Key procedures include mounting the motor, connecting the 12V electrical system, performing a functional test, and operating the awning manually in case of power failure.

Package contents

The kit includes the following components:

Components included in the kit
Components included in the kit
  • Motor unit (A)
  • Motor cover (B)
  • Side cover (C)
  • Rivet/fastening components (D, G, H, I)
  • Control system switch (E)
  • Crank handle (F)

Installation

The installation should be carried out by qualified personnel. Ensure all parts are undamaged before starting. The motor unit is mounted to the awning end cap. Use the provided rivets (A+B) to secure the covers. Follow the sequence: insert the rivet into the holes, detach screw B, and tighten screw B fully.

Electrical connection

The system operates on 12V DC. For safety, disconnect the vehicle battery before installation. Choose the shortest and safest route for the power cable. The system must be powered by a line protected by a 12A fuse. The motor itself is equipped with a T 5A L 250V fuse. Never operate the product without a fuse. Ensure the relay (not supplied) is connected so that the ignition key cuts off power to the motor when the vehicle is moving.

General test of electrical operation

Before fixing the motor covers, perform a test:

Microswitch adjustment (8B)
Microswitch adjustment (8B)
  • Verify the awning opens when the switch is in the EXTEND position and closes in the RETRACT position. If reversed, invert the polarity.
  • Open the awning completely and close it, checking that the microswitch interrupts movement when pressed. If not, adjust the microswitch using a clamp.

Operation

Standard Operation: Use the control system switch to open or close the awning. Releasing the button stops the movement. Do not place hands in mechanical parts while the awning is moving.

Manual operation (11B)
Manual operation (11B)

Manual Operation: If the motor fails, use the supplied crank handle (F) to close the awning manually.

Safety and maintenance

Always ensure the awning is correctly closed before driving. Periodically check the fixing status, especially after the first few kilometers and before/after long journeys. Do not wash the outer covering with aggressive products. If the awning protrudes more than 100 mm from the vehicle profile, it must be recorded in the vehicle registration documents.

Practical help

Common problems

Awning movement does not stop

The microswitch may be disconnected or defective. Check the connection or adjust the microswitch using a clamp.

Motor failure

Use the supplied crank handle F to close the awning manually.

Fuse blows

Check for obstacles preventing movement or electrical shorts. Replace the fuse only with an identical T 5A L 250V fuse.

Before use

  • Check that all components are undamaged.
  • Ensure the awning is correctly closed before driving.
  • Verify the 12V power supply connection.
  • Ensure the 12A line fuse is installed.
  • Check for obstacles (e.g., branches) above the awning fabric.
