The Forté Keira is a 120V cooker hood designed for residential use. It can be installed in either ducted (external evacuation) or non-ducted (recirculating) modes. Proper installation requires a minimum distance of 26 inches (65 cm) from a gas hob. Always ensure the unit is disconnected from the power supply before performing any maintenance or cleaning.
Safety Warnings
- Electrical Safety: Connect only to properly grounded outlets. Do not use extension cords.
- Fire Prevention: Use only metal ductwork. Never leave surface units unattended at high settings. If a grease fire occurs, smother flames with a lid or tray; do not use water.
- Operation: Do not use the hood with solid-state speed control devices.
Installation
Installation must be performed by a qualified technician. Ensure the mounting surface is strong enough to support the hood.

Cabinet Mounting
The hood is designed for cabinet installation. Trace and drill the cabinet according to the provided dimensions. Use the 4 supplied screws to fix the hood. A spacer is included to adjust the hood position based on cabinet depth; if the standard spacer is insufficient, use the additional bracket provided.
Electrical Connection
The unit must be connected to a grounded plant. You may use a standard plug (ensure it remains accessible) or a fixed mains connection with a bipolar switch that allows complete disconnection in overvoltage category III conditions.
Operation
The hood features a multispeed blower with four power levels.

- TL Button: Turns the light on and off.
- T1 Button: Switches the hood on, sets the first power level, or switches the blower off.
- T2-T4 Buttons: Select the second, third, and fourth power levels.
- Delayed Auto-Off: While the hood is running, press and hold the TL button until LEDs flash. Press T1 (5 min), T2 (10 min), T3 (15 min), or T4 (20 min) to set the timer.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance is essential for safety and performance.

- Anti-Grease Filters: Clean every 3-4 weeks using detergent in hot water or a dishwasher. A dirty filter is a fire hazard.
- Filter Alarm: Every 30 hours of operation, the speed LEDs will light up to remind you to clean the grease filters. Reset by holding the T4 button while the blower is off.
- Long-Life Anti-Odor Filter: For recirculating hoods, this filter can be regenerated every 3-4 months by washing in a dishwasher at 70°C (no detergent) followed by 30 minutes of drying in an oven at 70°C. Replace after 6-8 regeneration cycles.
- Cleaning: Clean the exterior with a mild solution of warm water and liquid dish soap. Avoid abrasive sponges or acid/basic products.

Every 120 hours, the speed LEDs flash to indicate the need to regenerate the Long-Life filter. Reset by holding the T4 button while the blower is off.
Ensure ductwork is metal, as short as possible, has few curves, and has a diameter not smaller than the motor output.
