This document provides essential installation instructions for the Golden Lighting 0309-FM fixture. Always ensure power is shut off at the circuit breaker before beginning. Installation should be performed by an accredited professional.
Preparing for installation
Carefully remove the fixture and parts bag from the carton. Remove the old fixture and mounting strap from the wall. Attach the new mounting strap (A) to the junction box using the provided mounting screws (C).
Connecting the wires
Have an assistant support the fixture's weight during wiring. Connect the fixture wires to the house supply wires as follows:
- Hot: Connect the smooth, black, or transparent wire with black inner thread to the house hot wire.
- Neutral: Connect the ribbed, white, or transparent wire with white inner thread to the house neutral wire.
- Ground: Connect the copper, bare metal, green, or transparent wire with green inner thread to the house ground wire.
If no house ground wire is present, wrap the fixture ground wire around the ground screw (E) on the mounting strap and tighten.
Finishing the installation
Attach the glass shade (H) and metal shade (I) to the socket (G) and secure them using the socket ring (J). Lift the canopy (F) over the mounting strap (A) and secure it using the side screws (D). Install a light bulb (not provided) according to the fixture's specifications, ensuring you do not exceed the maximum wattage.
Safety and maintenance
Always use the specified bulbs and do not exceed the maximum wattage. Ensure all wire connections are secure and twisted in the same direction before applying wire connectors.

Common problems
No house ground wire available
Locate the ground screw (E) on the mounting strap and wrap the fixture's ground wire around it, then tighten securely.
Fixture weight is too heavy to hold while wiring
Have an assistant support the fixture's weight while you complete the wiring connections.
