This document provides essential installation instructions for the Golden Lighting 0511-1W wall sconce. Installation must be performed by an accredited professional. Always shut off the power supply at the circuit breaker before beginning. Ensure you use only the specified bulb type and do not exceed the maximum wattage.
Preparing for installation
Carefully remove the fixture and the hardware bag from the carton. Ensure the old fixture and mounting strap are removed from the wall. The mounting strap (A) includes multiple threaded holes and two sets of mounting screws (B & C). Secure the mounting strap (A) to your junction box using screws (C).
Connecting the wires
Have an assistant support the fixture's weight during wiring. Connect the fixture wires to the house supply wires using wire connectors, ensuring all twists are in the same direction:
- Hot: Smooth, black, or transparent wire with black inner thread.
- Neutral: Ribbed, white, or transparent wire with white inner thread.
- Ground: Copper, bare metal, green, or transparent wire with green inner thread.
If no house ground wire is present, wrap the fixture ground wire around the ground screw (E) on the mounting bracket and tighten securely.
Finishing the installation
Place the backplate (D) over the mounting strap (A) and secure it with decorative nuts (F) until snug against the wall. Attach the shade (H) to the socket (G) using the socket cover (I) and socket ring (J). Adjust the glass to the desired position and install a light bulb (not provided) according to the fixture's specifications.

Common problems
Fixture is not hanging straight
Ensure the backplate (D) is properly aligned with the mounting screws (B) on the mounting strap (A) before tightening the decorative nuts.
No house ground wire available
Locate the ground screw (E) on the mounting bracket and wrap the fixture's ground wire around it, then tighten the screw.
Before use
- Shut off power at the circuit breaker.
- Verify all parts are present in the yellow bag.
- Ensure you have an assistant to support the fixture weight during wiring.
- Confirm the bulb wattage does not exceed the fixture's maximum rating.
