Quick guide from the manual
This document provides essential installation and safety instructions for the Golden Lighting 1993-M1L pendant light. All installation work must be performed by an accredited professional. Always shut off the power supply at the circuit breaker before beginning.
Preparing for installation
Carefully remove the fixture from the carton and locate the parts bag. Ensure the power is off at the circuit breaker and remove any old fixture and mounting hardware. Attach the threaded nipple (F) to the mounting strap (A) using the hex nut (C) and washer (D). Secure the mounting strap (A) to the junction box using the provided mounting screws (B).
Assembling the fixture
Determine the required length of the chain (J) for the desired hanging height. Use pliers to open and remove excess chain links if necessary. Attach chain connectors (K) to both ends of the chain. Connect one end to the top loop (L) and the other to the canopy loop (H). Close the connectors securely. Feed the fixture wires through the chain (every three links) and through the canopy loop (H) and canopy (G). Slide the canopy loop collar (I) and canopy (G) down onto the chain/wire assembly.
Connecting the wires
Have an assistant support the weight of the fixture during wiring. Connect the fixture wires to the house supply wires from the junction box:

- Hot: Smooth, black, or transparent wire with black inner thread.
- Neutral: Ribbed, white, or transparent wire with white inner thread.
- Ground: Copper, bare metal, green, or transparent wire with green inner thread.
Twist the ends of the wire pairs together and secure with a wire connector, ensuring all twists are in the same direction. If no house ground wire is available, wrap the fixture ground wire around the ground screw (E) on the mounting bracket and tighten.
Finishing the installation
Push the canopy (G) up to the ceiling and slide the canopy loop collar (I) up to secure the canopy in place by threading it onto the canopy loop (H). Install a light bulb (not provided) into the shade (M), ensuring you do not exceed the maximum recommended wattage. Turn on the power to test the fixture.
