Product Overview
The Golden Lighting 1140-SF Samara is a 2-light semi-flush ceiling fixture designed to provide ambient lighting. This product arrives pre-assembled, requiring only mounting to the junction box and final glass shade installation.
Safety Information
Important: All installation work must be performed by an accredited professional. Always shut off the power supply at the circuit breaker or fuse box before beginning any work. Ensure you use only the specified light bulbs and do not exceed the maximum wattage rating for the fixture.
Installation Preparation
Carefully unpack the fixture and locate the mounting hardware. Ensure the old fixture and its mounting strap are completely removed from the ceiling. The mounting strap (B) should be secured to the junction box using the provided screws (D). Adjust the mounting screws (A) so they protrude through the canopy (F) at the correct length to allow for the decorative nuts (G) to be tightened securely against the ceiling.
Wiring the Fixture
Have an assistant support the weight of the fixture during the wiring process. Connect the fixture wires to the house supply wires as follows:
- Hot: Connect the smooth, black, or transparent wire with black inner thread to the house hot wire.
- Neutral: Connect the ribbed, white, or transparent wire with white inner thread to the house neutral wire.
- Ground: Connect the copper, bare metal, green, or transparent wire with green inner thread to the house ground wire. If no house ground wire exists, secure the fixture ground wire to the ground screw (E) on the mounting strap.
Ensure all wire connections are secured with wire connectors and that all twists are in the same direction. Tuck the wires neatly into the junction box.
Final Assembly
Push the canopy (F) against the ceiling and secure it using the decorative nuts (G). Install the appropriate light bulbs (not provided) into the sockets. Finally, attach the glass shade (I) by placing it between the washers (J) on the nipple (H) and securing it with the finial (K). Restore power to test the fixture.
