This document provides installation instructions for the Golden Lighting 1945-1W wall sconce. The fixture is designed for indoor use and can be installed with or without the included glass shade. All installation work must be performed by an accredited professional. Always shut off the power supply at the circuit breaker before beginning.
Preparing for installation
- Turn off the power at the circuit breaker and remove the old fixture and mounting strap.
- Identify the mounting strap (B) and select the holes that match your junction box.
- Ensure mounting screws (A) are attached to the strap and aligned horizontally.
- Secure the mounting strap to the junction box using screws (D).
Connecting the wires
Refer to the provided wiring diagram to ensure correct connections:
- Hot: Connect to the house hot wire (smooth, black, or transparent with black inner thread).
- Neutral: Connect to the house neutral wire (ribbed, white, or transparent with white inner thread).
- Ground: Connect to the house ground wire (copper, bare metal, green, or transparent with green inner thread).
- If no house ground wire exists, wrap the fixture ground wire around the ground screw (E) on the mounting bracket.
- Twist wire ends together and secure with a wire connector, ensuring all twists are in the same direction.
Finishing the installation
The fixture can be installed with or without the glass shade (K).
Installation without shade
- Place the backplate (F) over the mounting screws (A).
- Secure with decorative nuts (G) until the backplate is snug against the wall.
- Install a light bulb (not included) according to fixture specifications.
Installation with shade
- Place the backplate (F) over the mounting screws (A) and secure with decorative nuts (G).
- Attach the glass shade (K) and socket cover (L) to the socket (I).
- Secure the shade using the socket ring (J).
- Install a light bulb (not included) according to fixture specifications.

Common problems
No house ground wire available
Locate the ground screw (E) on the mounting bracket and wrap the fixture's ground wire around it, then tighten securely.
Backplate does not sit flush against the wall
Adjust the mounting screws (A) on the mounting strap (B) and ensure the decorative nuts (G) are tightened evenly.
Before use
- Shut off power at the circuit breaker.
- Verify the junction box is compatible with the mounting strap.
- Ensure you have an assistant to support the fixture weight during wiring.
