Quick guide from the manual
This document provides essential instructions for the safe and efficient operation of the HiKOKI CR 18DBL cordless reciprocating saw. Always read the full safety warnings before use. Key operations include battery installation, blade mounting, and mode selection.
Device description
The tool features a handle, trigger switch, lock-off button, housing, front cover, lever for blade release, blade, base, LED light, base lever, battery, and a hook for temporary storage.
Operation
To operate, ensure the battery is firmly installed. Use the trigger switch to start the tool. The tool features a mode selector switch to toggle between speed change modes (Low, Medium, High) and an Auto mode, which adjusts speed based on load. Caution: Do not cut stainless steel in Auto mode.
Blade mounting and removal
To mount, insert the blade into the blade hole. To remove, pivot the lever and point the blade downward; it should fall out. If broken, use the tip of another blade to hook and remove the broken piece from the slit.
Battery and charging
Charge the battery using the specified charger. The pilot lamp indicates the charging status: blinking red (before charging), continuous red (charging), blinking red (charging complete), flickering red (malfunction), or green (overheat standby). Always allow the battery to cool if it is hot before charging.
Maintenance
Regularly inspect the blade for wear and ensure all mounting screws are tight. Clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth or soapy water. Do not use solvents that melt plastic. Store in a cool, dry place below 40°C.
Safety
Always wear eye protection. Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Do not use the tool in explosive atmospheres. Hold the tool by insulated gripping surfaces when cutting near hidden wiring. Use clamps to secure the workpiece.

Common problems
This is likely the protection function. If the battery is empty, charge it. If overloaded, release the switch and eliminate the cause of overload. If overheated, let the battery cool down.
Check for foreign objects in the charger's battery connector. If none, the battery or charger may be malfunctioning; contact an authorized service center.
The car battery voltage is 12V or lower, indicating it is too weak to charge.
Before use
- Ensure the work area is clean and well-lit.
- Check that the switch is in the OFF position before inserting the battery.
