Quick guide from the manual
This document provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of the Hikoki 1826DA and 1826DC cordless rotary hammers. Key procedures include battery charging, selecting operation modes (rotation + hammering, rotation only, hammering only), and using the auto-stop function. Always ensure the battery is fully charged before use and that the tool is switched off before changing accessories.
Device description
The tool features a handle, switch trigger, side handle, depth gauge, drill bit holder, and LED light. The display panel allows for monitoring battery status and selecting operation modes, including low/normal speed and auto-stop functionality.
Operation
To operate, insert a charged battery. Select the desired mode using the change lever. For rotation + hammering, ensure the side handle is tightened securely. For rotation only or hammering only, use the appropriate drill bit or chuck holder. The tool includes a Reactive Force Control (RFC) feature to reduce body jerking during sudden overloads.
Auto stop function
The auto-stop function supports continuous drilling. It records the time from switch-on to switch-off in memory mode. Once recorded, the tool will automatically stop the motor if subsequent drilling exceeds the stored time.
Maintenance and cleaning
Regularly inspect the tool for dull bits and loose mounting screws. Clean the battery compartment and terminals after drilling concrete to prevent dust accumulation, which can cause contact failures. Store the tool in a dry place below 40°C.
Troubleshooting
If the tool fails to run, check the battery charge and ensure it is securely attached. If the tool stops suddenly, it may be due to overload, activation of the RFC, or battery overheating. Clean any concrete dust from the battery terminals if necessary.

- Check that the side handle is securely attached.
- Verify the correct operation mode is selected.
- Clean any dust from the battery terminals.
- Ensure the drill bit is properly inserted and latched.
Specs in practice
- n0 (No-load speed)
- The rotational speed of the tool without any load applied.
- Bpm (Full-load impact rate)
- The number of impacts per minute when the tool is under full load.
- φ max (Drilling diameter)
- The maximum recommended diameter for drilling in specific materials.
Model compatibility
- Compatible with HiKOKI Multi Volt and BSL18xx series batteries.
- Existing batteries (BSL3660/3626X/3626/3625/3620 and BSL14xx series) are not compatible.
