Device Description
The tool features a trigger switch, a forward/reverse switching button, and a bracket system for holding studs. It includes a scale for precise cutting and a collection box for swarf and dust management.
Operation
To cut a stud, set it in the cutter on the bracket (B) side, ensuring threads mesh correctly. Maintain a horizontal position and pull the trigger switch fully. The tool features an auto-stop function that stops the cutter in the fully open position after a cut. For stationary cutting, place the tool securely on the floor.
Cutter Life and Replacement
Repeated cutting can cause wear or damage to the cutter edges. Each cutter has four cutting locations. If a cut is no longer clean, change the attachment direction of the cutter to use a fresh edge. If all edges are worn, replace the cutter. Always use the correct cutter size and spacers for the stud being cut.
Battery and Charging
Use only designated HiKOKI batteries and chargers. Charge batteries at temperatures between 0°C and 40°C. The charger (e.g., UC18YSL3) features an indicator lamp to show charging status. Avoid continuous use of the charger; allow it to rest for 15 minutes between charges.
Safety and Maintenance
Always wear eye protection. Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Regularly inspect mounting screws and keep the tool's terminals free of swarf and dust to prevent short circuits. Store the tool in a cool, dry place out of reach of children.
Troubleshooting
If the tool stops during operation, it may be due to the protection function (overload or overheating). Release the trigger and eliminate the cause. If the cutter seizes, use the reverse function to remove the stud.

Cutter seizes on a stud
Pull the trigger while pushing the forward/reverse button to the reverse side to rotate the motor in the opposite direction and remove the stud.
Nut does not fit on the cut stud
The cutter edge may be worn or damaged. Change the attachment direction of the cutter to use a fresh edge or replace the cutter.
