The tool is a cordless multi-function oscillating tool designed for flush cutting, pocket cutting, peeling tiles, caulking, and polishing wood materials.
Operation Modes
The tool features two operating modes:
- Standard Mode: Vibration frequency can be adjusted from 6000 to 20000 min-1 using the dial (settings 1–5).
- AUTO Mode: Automatically adjusts vibration frequency between 15000 min-1 and 20000 min-1 based on workload to reduce noise and vibration.
Battery Charging
Before use, charge the battery using the specified charger (e.g., UC18YFSL). The pilot lamp indicates the charging status:
- Blinking (1s interval): Before charging or charging complete.
- Continuous light: Charging in progress.
- Blinking (0.5s interval): Charging complete.
- Blinking (1s on, 0.5s off): Overheat standby (battery too hot).
- Flickering (0.1s interval): Charging impossible (malfunction).
Maintenance and Inspection
- Application Tool: Replace dull or damaged tools to prevent motor overload.
- Mounting Screws: Regularly inspect and tighten all screws.
- Motor: Keep the motor winding clean and free from oil or water.
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth or soapy water. Do not use chlorine solvents, gasoline, or paint thinner.
- Storage: Store in a place with a temperature below 40°C, out of reach of children.
Safety
Always wear eye and hearing protection. Ensure the work area is free of hidden obstructions like electrical wiring or pipes. When not in use, store the tool securely.

Common problems
Motor stops during operation
This is likely the protection function. If the battery is empty, charge it. If overloaded, release the switch and remove the cause of the overload. If overheated, let the battery cool down.
Pilot lamp on charger does not blink red
Check if the charger is properly connected. If it still doesn't blink, the protection circuit might be activated. Unplug for 30 seconds and reconnect. If it still fails, contact a HiKOKI Authorized Service Center.
Battery life is very short
Prolonged storage with low charge can reduce performance. Try charging and using the battery 2-5 times to recover capacity. If it remains short, the battery is likely dead.
Before use
- Ensure the work area is clean and well-lit.
- Wear personal protective equipment (eye and hearing protection).
- Check that the switch is in the OFF position before inserting the battery.
- Ensure the application tool is securely attached.
- Verify the area to be cut is free of hidden obstructions (wiring, pipes).
