Safety Information

Mounting and Operation
- Wheel Guard: Must be securely attached and positioned for maximum safety.
- Side Handle: Fix the side handle to the tool before operation.
- Assembling Wheels: Ensure the depressed center wheel, cutting wheel, or diamond wheel is correctly mounted and the wheel nut is securely tightened.
- Switch Operation: Confirm the push button is disengaged before switching the tool ON.
- Grinding: For effective grinding, the weight of the machine is usually sufficient. Do not apply excessive pressure, as this reduces rotational speed and surface finish.
Maintenance and Inspection
- Wheel Inspection: Regularly check that the wheel is free of cracks and surface defects.
- Mounting Screws: Regularly inspect all mounting screws and ensure they are properly tightened.
- Carbon Brushes: Inspection and replacement should ONLY be performed by a HiKOKI Authorized Service Center.
- Motor Maintenance: Regularly blow dry air through the tail cover air hole while the motor is running without load to remove accumulated dust and dirt.

Common problems
Considerable vibration during operation
Stop the tool immediately and check the machine to determine the cause.
Loose mounting screws
Regularly inspect all mounting screws and retighten immediately if loose.
Motor malfunction due to dust accumulation
Blow out dust and dirt from the air vents using dry air while the motor is running without load.
Before use
- Check that the wheel is free of cracks and surface defects.
- Ensure the wheel is correctly mounted and the wheel nut is securely tightened.
- Confirm the push button is disengaged by pressing it two or three times.
- Ensure the power switch is in the OFF position.
- Wear eye protection and other necessary personal protective equipment.
- Ensure the work area is clean and well-lit.
