Safety Warnings
General Power Tool Safety: Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Do not operate in explosive atmospheres. Keep children and bystanders away. Ensure the power switch is in the OFF position before connecting to a power source.
Kickback and Related Warnings: Kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched or snagged rotating wheel. Maintain a firm grip and position your body to resist kickback forces. Never place your hand near the rotating accessory.
Mounting and Operation

- Wheel Guard: Must be securely attached and positioned for maximum safety.
- Side Handle: Always use the side handle for maximum control.
- Wheel Assembly: Ensure the depressed center wheel is the correct type and free of cracks. Ensure the wheel nut is securely tightened.
- Switch Operation: Confirm the push button is disengaged before switching the tool ON.
- Grinding: In most applications, the weight of the machine alone is sufficient for effective grinding. Do not overload the machine by applying excessive pressure.

- Depressed Center Wheel: Regularly inspect for cracks and surface defects.
- Mounting Screws: Periodically check that all screws are properly tightened.
- Carbon Brushes: Inspection and replacement should ONLY be performed by a HiKOKI Authorized Service Center.
