Operation

Always turn the tool off before changing the direction of rotation using the reversing switch lever to prevent motor damage.
Drilling Techniques
- Wood: Use wood-working drill bits. To achieve a clean hole, stop drilling just as the tip protrudes from the opposite side, then finish from the other side.
- Metal: Use iron-working drill bits. Use a center punch to mark the position to prevent the bit from slipping. Applying a small amount of sewing machine oil or soapy water can improve bit longevity.
Maintenance
Always disconnect the power plug before performing any maintenance. Regularly inspect the drill bit and driver bit for wear; replace or sharpen them as needed to maintain efficiency. Check all mounting screws periodically and tighten them if loose. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by an authorized HiKOKI service center to avoid safety hazards.

Common problems
Drill bit slips or loosens during operation
Ensure the bit is fully inserted into the chuck and tightened using the chuck wrench, applying equal force to all three holes.
Motor damage or burning
Never change the direction of rotation while the motor is running. Always turn the switch OFF first.
Reduced drilling efficiency
Check if the drill bit is abraded or dull. Replace or sharpen the bit immediately.
